Sry to bring up some history…
A) Kill him (Batman #666)
B) Have him become Red Robin (Kingdom Come)
C) Figure out a way to have two Batmen (Flashes, Green Lanterns)
D) Make him Nightwing again (There’s already a Kryptonian Nightwing though)
I’m leaning on there being 2 Batmen somehow. It seems like DC did not bank on DG as Batman being as popular as it has been. Maybe DG can go to another reality or something. Who knows.
I highly doubt that cuz batman is such a strong figure in the DC Uni. that I doubt they would make 2… it just wouldn’t work…

But like you said who knows depends on the writers… but i foresee a bad future for NW.
DG will end up in his E2 Robin costume before its all over.
There is also the option of making Dick some new persona. Perhaps his time as Batman can allow him to create some Batman/Nightwing hybrid. And he, like Batman can take on (or keep) a sidekick.
Just so long as he’s not “Batwing”.

Ive been holding this back for a while being careful not to cut it loose until i could trust the intelligence and respect lvl of my comic loving bretheren before letting this out but i believe this groups truly worthy.
So here goes and yes i may rant a bit please forgive me ahead of time.
I TRULY BELIEVE TERRY MCGUINESS A.K.A. BATMAN BEYOND SHOULD BE MADE TRUE CANON IN THE DCU!!
Seeing as how batman is “dead” and Dicks clearly proven his valor and lvl of skill as his protege/first trained i thought nows the perfect time for a move like this.
Terry is Bruce more or less if youve followed the show and JLU aswell as a few comics it explains that in detail.
Nightwings doing a fine job as the bat once bruce returns hell most likely have to go to another reality or as also stated in this thread hell create a new identity and new path for himself hes clearly surpassed his nightwings skills and is closer to new tiers of abilities.
Drake is doing incredibly well with his new persona and as stated by nightwing’s opinion he has become his equal. Batman has stated numerous times that drake has the potential to become the best detective in the DCU and in that regard hes already surpassed Dick. He could keep the Red Robin persona and fight crime better than ever before.
But Terry was able to do both in the span of only a few years and thanks to the hardhips of the future and bruces training he faced threats and circumstances neither dick or drake couldve handled in only his early years and as far as i know he is the only true equal to Batmans fighting skills, though he lacks bruces full super intellect but all in all hes a near perfect successor and like bruce would never give up the fight or struggle NEVER.
His continuity is considered a part of the DCU according to the DC encyclopedia and he has the potential to surpass the entire bat family.
Its my opinion that his universe and character should be brought into the DCU maybe even main continuity perhaps as a temporary replacement in gotham or to help bruce piece back gotham together while Dick prepares his new path or at the very least he could continue his exploits protecting future Gotham in the DCU on tpb like he should hes to awesome a character to allow to fall to the wind.
And he far proved hes got what it takes to be in the DCU as an elite character. Hell!! i could think of a few dumbass characters and situations we put up with adding a character that belongs and is already a large part of that worlds future wouldnt be a bad move in my opinion and thats one batman we could all enjoy then we get 2 batmans that actually work without things getting weird.
So there it is i said it damn that felt good!!
Red Robin sucks as a name, and the costume is hideous.

Batman Beyond can’t be 100% canon ever because of Oracle. Dini dislikes Oracle (hence no Oracle in Beyond) and it’s doubtful DC will ever get Barbara Gordon out of the chair. Dini has tried to get her out of the chair but has been rejected so far. Oracle is too much of a role model now for handicapped people for DC to go and alter that.

Can’t say for sure. Whenever a new Batgirl story rolls around there’s always rumors about making Barbara Batgirl again. Levitz is against it and that’s a pretty big hat.
I’m not sure I see a reason for Batman Beyond to be brought into continuity honestly. Batman already has a kid with Damian so no government conspiracy to give him an heir required. No Tim Drake mind rape, Oracle rules and we never find out exactly what happens to Dick Grayson in Beyond land other than him quiting and never speaking to Bruce again. And we never find out what happens to Catwoman either, how can the show not address that?
I love Batman Beyond for what it was but in all honesty I think what’s going on in the comics right now is much more interesting than Beyond. That’s just me.
Oh and Nightwing is featured prominently right now in the Teen Titans strip of Wednesday Comics. He’s not the star or anything, Tim Drake is. But there DG is in his old NW suit in all his glory.

I’m buying it with the mind that it’s likely finite. We’ll eventually return to the status quo.
with that in mind, I can suspend my desire FOR the Status Quo, and focus on the fact that I’m reading a really balls-ass awesome story, that doesn’t need to adhere to editorial mandates and status quos that extend back seventy years. You never know what to expect. And the fact that they’re not dealing with established Bat-Rogues is giving it a real feeling of being brand new and fun. Almost to the point that I’ll truly hate to see it go once order is finally restored.
but at least with this one, I know that it eventually must. As opposed to some other recent ‘pull the wool over your eyes’ stunts regarding the return of characters I don’t care for, at the cost of ones I do.
I agree with this. I’d rather have Barbara mentoring the new generation of Batgirls then having her actually put on the tights again. Plus, it’s hilarious watching her effortlessly beat up thugs and having them wonder wtf is going on lol. I don’t know how I feel about Stephanie becoming the new Batgirl though…No one can replace Cassandra IMO.
Speaking of Barbara, why was she so pissed off in Batgirl #1? I haven’t read anything Barbara Gordon related since Manhunter was fighting Black Canary in BOP waaay back, so i’m out the loop.
I read Batman and Robin #3 as well. I like the book , but i dunno if Pyg was the most interesting villain I’ve ever seen… he seemed a bit too insane to pull of a few of the things he did. But he’ll fit right in at arkhams tho.
But on a far mor exiting note i finally finished reading part 2 and 3 of RedSon and i was really surprised at the complexity of the story and how well all the different charachter interpretation worked out. Ive always liked the Elseworld stories , but i gotta say that this is one of the better ones ive read. As the story progressed i found myself sympathising more and more with luthor and hoping for someone to bring that alien communist despot down !!! I almost feel that sometimes Luthor borrowed a few charachteristics from Dr.Manhattan in watchmen ,… save for the unimaginable powers. Overall a great read !
Flash in Wednesday comics this week was really good! They showed Flash in a fake Peanuts (Charlie Brown) strip, a fake Blondie strip and a fake Tarzan strip! I guess Flash was seeing himself in different realities or something. Very cool! 
it was indeed bitchin’. I’m loving these throwbacks to classic comics. It shows that these creators are understanding the format, and the pioneers of the Sunday Page.
the only thing that could’ve made that Flash strip any better would’ve been a Calvin and Hobbes homage.
Kamandi’s my favorite though. The Hal Foster vibe is cool, but I’ve been a Kamandi fan since I was about 10.
