It is based on that.I will be getting this on September 29th.I was watching the special features about the Public Enemies flick.Andrea Romano the voice director of the JLU,Batman & others said that she & writers weren’t going to do this at all because the producers wanted someone different doing the voices of the main 3.I don’t blame for this move.Tim Daly,Kevin Conroy & Clancy Brown fit those characters.
I agree with you to an extent. Hal WAS weak. Admittedly, according to Rebirth, he was slowly whittled away at by Parallax even before the Coast City incident, but regardless, you could see his embracing Parallax as weakness, certainly. Since then, however, he has grown as a character. In Rebirth, he has had the sheer force of will to fight off both Parallax AND The Spectre. I’d say that’s pretty damn impressive. One thing I’ve appreciated about DC’s current representation of the character is the fact that they aren’t trying to ignore or cover up his past weakness, but use it as a springboard to strengthen the character further.
Even regardless of Hal, I’ve always enjoyed John a bit more than Kyle anyway. Maybe it’s just JLU talking, but that’s how it is.

I’m a Bronze Age GL Fan. I love anything GL Up to Emerald Twilight.
I love Kyle’s stuff.
but anything that paints Hal as a hero post Emerald Twilight is bullshit IMO.
a lot of people assume that because I’m Anti-Hal, and Pro-Kyle that I’m a Kyle fan. But even though I’m Anti-Hal, doesn’t mean I don’t LIKE Hal. He’s my second favorite villain. I think it’s a disservice to the character to take away the most interesting thing he’s ever done in his entire history.
my opinion of Kyle is that he should be the star, he replaced Hal, and he should be THE Green Lantern, but I don’t mind if Hal is alive. But he should only be serving in a mentoring capacity, not the star of the book. He lost his book to a better successor. He still has a lot to answer for in my opinion.
I don’t care how DC tries to deepen “Hal” they had forty years to ‘deepen’ him, and he’s still boring as shit. Eventually he’ll get boring again. There’s a reason he’s been replaced, or required a co-star, FOUR times.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I hate the new girl with a passion. The moment I flipped through this latest issue of Batgirl and saw her, I gave it to my friend to line his ferret cage with.
Superman Blackest Night #1 was pretty good. Paul Dini’s still doing great things in Streets of Gotham too.

My apologies. I do try to catch this stuff early on but the identity of the new Batgirl was below my radar. I wasn’t aware that her reveal was an actual spoiler.
I’m going back and spoiler tagging all posts regarding that. Once again, please be mindful that not everyone reads comics on the day they came out. If you want to know how to use a spoiler tag just quote any post with a spoiler tag and that’s how you type them up.
The unwritten rule is wait at least a week before you spoil something major. And yeah on the flip side if you don’t want comics you haven’t read yet spoiled for you then just stay away from forums until you’re caught up. Again I try to catch things when they slip but things will go through my fingers here and there.

Cass attitude when she decided to drop the Bat suit felt…odd. Cass is one of my fav. DC characters, and I don’t mind Steph as Batgirl, though I’m hoping for good stories in the future =)

Why does DC keep relegating Superman to the bench? Final Crisis he’s almost nowhere to be found and he has a bit part in Blackest Night. I know that he’s the most powerful comic character ever and can end these conflicts pretty swiftly but this is getting ridiculous.

Im just glad all the pieces are falling into place and that blackest night is moving along well i was very afraid itd get stalld up like legion of 3 worlds did.
But just my 2 cents i really dont like hal as a lead lantern he was cool in his day but that age is long gone and we already covered this but after what he did kyle kept the flame alive when noone else would or could he even became god tier 2wice brought back the core & saved the guardians other than his relationship issues hes the man but i much prefer guy gardner or john stewart over jordan. Plus rayners got the best constructs.
Im so pissed spoilers the new batgirl and why would cass give it up that way its some bullshit especially since she fought sooo hard to be outsiders tier even against nightwing that took guts hes the shit!! and its cool that deadman got a little more insight into how fucked up damien is i mean theres a reason dc named him damien cmon! seriously.
