I’m one of Impulse’s biggest fans (there are a few of us out there, so I can’t say I’m his #1 fan).
it starts out as Waid and Ramos, after that I think Todd Dezago takes over for a while.
as for trades, Bart’s first appearance and the early issues of the series are available in a trade titled “Reckless Youth” but this series, along with Young Justice are both victims of DC’s poor trade policy.
they also marketed the Mercury Falling storyline, but they marketed it as a FLASH trade, NOT an Impulse trade, as a way to cash in on Flash Rebirth (since Max plays a part in it).
Flash: Dead Heat also collects a few Impulse issues, as it was a crossover.
All this talk about Impulse makes me want to run out and relive the glory days of Young Justice, nothing compares to YJ, as far as teen teams are concerned.
Also Geoff Johns can do no wrong in my eyes, will pick up his Flash run when it comes out, they should just have him write on all DC comics coming out. Yes it might kill him, or drive him insane, but that is the price he has to pay for quality writing.
Thank you good sir, as Zephy brought up earlier during SFIV, they really need to finish the TPB’s. Hell I’d shell out for a Omnibus or a Hardback that collected the full work (If I had said cash).
The group dynamic was fun. Robin, Superboy, and Impulse meshed well and the introduction of Red Tornado, Wonder Girl, Arrowette, and Secret was a fun Boy/girl dynamic. Don’t get me started on Lil’ Lobo, that dude was fierce.
Now to finish up GL so I can finally read my blackest Night stuff.
You mean Geoff Johns? Yeah I was incredibly hyped for his Superman run, but at that time I had a lot of problems at work and it became hectic to get out, so I had to temporarily put my comic book buying on hiatus.
His Brainiac arc is what I wanted to read, I don’t know if he still writes on it or not, but the whole bringing Krypton stuff back seems odd to me. Right now I am trying my best to patiently wait for Batman & Robin, probably need to look up DG’s start in the main Bat series and look for those sometime.
Yeah his Brainiac arc is actually what made me like Superman, that arc is one of my fav. DC stories. Him bringing back New Krypton…I think it’s a nice idea, though sadly DC may end up killing all the Kryptonians again. However, I think there is a better way around this; depower all Kryptonians. Then again they might have them live in a pocket universe, never interacting with the known DC universe again…
At any rate, as I have said before, World of New Krypton by Greg Rucka, featuring Supes’ life on NK is one of the BEST DC books ATM. Try to get the TPBs and I think you’ll enjoy them =)
Awesome, that’ll be pretty cool, I need to visit Comic-con next year for sure.
Pained Auron: I don’t know much about them, but yeah, I’ll back you on it. Orange Lanterns seem angry, all the time, so an angry undead Orange Lantern would be scary indeed.
So I’ve read the entire Seaguy series and all i have to say is “DA FUG” this is gotta be one of the best things i read in quite a while Morrison at his best in this one
Da Fug yeah! There’s still one more installment to the SEAGUUUUUUUUY!!!111! trilogy, too. Hopefully the wait between stories won’t be as long as last time.
I blame that on Geoff Johns Bizarro counter-part, Johns Geoff. When Johns needs a break from being to damn awesome, he hires his beloved double to do his bidding. Since it is still technically him, it counts for his contract obligations and he can rest that brilliant mind.
