Good find, thanks!
DC was generally ahead of the curve in terms of '80s comics. I can’t really think of too many notable '80s Marvels outside of Daredevil, Captain Britain (Moore/Alan Davis and Jamie Delano), Kraven’s Last Hunt, and maybe Squadron Supreme. I’m sure there’s got to be more, but I can’t remember them right this moment. They had Epic running strong back then, but their mainstream titles paled in comparison to DC’s.
DC had Dr. Fate (I still think it’s one of DeMatteis’ finest works), Suicide Squad, The Question, and Mark Evanier/Dan Spiegel on Blackhawk. They had quirky comics reminiscent of the '80s indie movement like Camelot 3000 and Amethyst. There’s all the obvious ones: Watchmen, DKR, Animal Man, Swamp Thing, Doom Patrol, Arkham Asylum, The Killing Joke, Hellblazer, Sandman, etc.
good Morrison interview at ign: http://comics.ign.com/articles/986/986031p1.html
he mentions he’s a fan of crank 2!!
Printed the interview and I’m gonna read it on the train ride home from work, thanks! His interviews are always hella interesting.

[details=Spoiler]What do you do when Jordan can’t get the blue ring off his hand?
You cut Jordan’s hand [/details]
Geoff Johns

Man, that guy really loves dismemberment doesn’t he?
I’d let Boodikka do it, since Jordan took her hand back in Emerald Twilight.
I love watching this fucking clown suffer. GLC is the only GL title worth reading.
naaah
Exclusive First Look at Batman & Robin #1 (the first two pages and the other cover).
What the heck is that bat vehicle?
I think that is the sweetest Batmobile since the Adam West/Burt Ward era.
Morrison and Quitely are on acid again I love it. :lovin:
That Batmobile is sick like the flu and crazy like the glue.
I remember Morrison giving Batman an UFO to drive in the first JLA Unlimited story too, with Ed McGuninnes. He just won’t let it go.
That second page is fucking nuts though - it’s hard to find a guy that can draw a better action splash page than Quitely. Hitch or Cassaday…maybe. But damn, that two-page spread makes me hard.
I’m so looking forward to a Batman book that doesn’t suck.
Wait JLA Unlimited comic had a BatUFO?
I think Clinty’s been sniffing some of that Batglue. He’s surely referring to Morrison’s semi-prequel to Seven Soldiers in JLA Classified. He and McGuinness did the first three issues of that series. (I also liked how Batman has a “sci-fi closet.”)
Dear God, that Batmobile is sexy. I LOVE the sound effect explosions too.
Wednesday can’t get here soon enough.
DMD fired from JLA

I wanted to give JLA a chance once i heard DMac was writing the book. Oh well i guess i wont be reading a DC book for awhile.
I think McDuffie had issues with DC/his editors regarding his run on JL. Oh well I kinda enjoyed it for the most part.
^
I also really wanted to get into McDuffy’s run but it seemed like every other arc was a tie in to something else that was going on in the DCU, which is the same bad funk the previous JLA run prior to IC fell into, if my memory is right.
Good. That comic was awful.
