DC has released a preview for Blackest Night 0 (it seems kind of silly to release a preview for something that’s gonna be free anyway, but whatever). I’ll admit, I’m too hyped now. For those who don’t mind spoilers:

I’m shocked you bought a comic that 1) is in black and white 2) doesn’t have Deadpool.
Batman is overrated 
Yeah his Kyle Rayner stuff wasn’t bad.
The thing with him on team books, he writes about a group of people where no one gets along and the entire thing is disorganized and mismanaged. You know, he is just writing about his experience on Real World… Does he understand that MTV purposely chooses people that they know are going to blow up eventually once they are put to live together? The formula for good reality TV is not the same formula anyone chooses to make a team.
He is writing what he know so there is that. Still, this works more for Exiles when you basically pull a bunch of ‘new’ people from different universes to work together and not so much when you have people who are already established in DC proper.
Dick Grayson is supposed to have leadership skills that even Batman doesn’t have, as stated by DC themselves everywhere. I’ve said this before, but I will repeat. Because DG’s family was taken very early in life, he is always looking for a family dynamic. Unlike Batman who isn’t always looking for that dynamic, but it happened to him anyway. This is why DG generally cares about how people on his team feel and wants everyone to get along. It’s also one of the reasons why DG is really likeable in the DCU and has so many connections with other characters. Which Tomasi drew from a lot on Nightwing. 
Batman doesn’t give a damn if you are on a team he leads or is in, if you get along with each other, how you feel and what not. He just wants the job done, the end. He is not going to the bar after a mission with you, forget it. This is why everyone in the DCU respect Batman, most people do not like him. That’s a big difference. This isn’t a slam against Batman. It just is who he is. “I’M THE GODDAMN BATMAN!” 
You wouldn’t know from reading Winick’s Outsiders what a great leader DG is supposed to be since he mismanaged the team so badly he had to give up and hand the reigns over to Batman. The excuse in the book was DG said “I need to lead people I know and not a bunch of strangers.” Which is total BS. When he started leading the Teen Titans, well they were stangers too for the most part. :rolleyes:
Oh and Winick loved to punk Dick Grayson all the time. A poison dart to the neck took him out once - nevermind that it his a part of his suit and that’s supposed to be BULLETPROOF - and he had Dick Grayson lose a face off between Jason Todd. DG had escrima sticks to his neck and JT had guns to DG’s neck. :wasted:
The last time DG was of any use in Outsiders under Winick was during the Outsiders / Checkmate crossover. But that’s because of the stories in Checkmate that RUCKA wrote. DG was like a straight up ninja in that story! :nunchuck: Wish he was always written that way. But Rucka always does good things with DG whenever he gets his hands on him. Well, ditto for just about anyone Rucka writes. :tup:
So yeah JW writing DG without a team might not be the worst thing in the world. If he gets the cowl and stuff. He’s still going to mismanage Tim Drake or whoever is the new Robin and not get along with Alfred all of the sudden. Order MTV’s Top 20 Hits CD and play it while you read to enhance your experience. :clown:

I’m guessing the new Batman and Robin are gonna be Dick Grayson and Damian. Morrison said that his Batman would be a nice guy while his Robin would be violent, right? Who else could they be?
Yeah Morrison made Dick Grayson Batman after Bruce Wayne died in issue #666, set in the future. Then several years later when Dick Grayson died, Damian took over.
