Tizoc I don’t agree with the fitting in argument either (well, truth be told if Superman fits in or not makes no difference to me) but that’s the usual argument. If you want way more details on it, google Morrison’s or Brevoort’s thoughts on it. I was / am being a bit brief because SRK has been bugging the hell out.
If you look around, except for some video games almost no form of media except for the LAME Lois and Clark TV show has copied the marriage (the marriage didn’t make the show lame, it just was IMHO). Not married in the DCAU, Smallville (close, but no), any movie, any animation, etc. At least Spider-Man had / has the strip, Spider-Girl and some video games too.
People didn’t really have to be vocal about Supes & Lois’ marriage to show their dislike really. I mean just look at Superman Returns. They’d rather have some other guy marry Lois and raise their kid. Like wow…
What do I think? Unlike Spider-Man I honestly haven’t read enough Superman comics to form a strong opinion on it either way. So long as Lois figures his identity out earlier on and doesn’t act like an idiot for the next ten years I guess it’s cool. I liked All-Star Superman but in denial Lois is only fun for a little while and not a long running series.
Lol well the relaunch is said to have no effect on the core Batman or GL titles anyway.
Not sure how that will play out. Like, will they have 2 different continuities? Or maybe just 1 continuity where stuff like Superman gets tweaked and other things will remain the same?
I have no idea, this new comic shop seems to think DC is trying to steer Morrison away from his batman universe by giving him Action Comics to play around with and distract him.

Tizoc, you are my bro and all, but don’t think me a comic retard. It’s not the “only” reason I am disliking this wave of change. It’s just the most glaring and idiotic of it to me. I can’t wait until I am a respected DC writer so I can be like “Hey DC, not really feeling Dick Grayson as Nightwing…again, and since Bruce came back he’s been acting like a little bitch. So I want to reboot and have his progression as Batman to happen. You have two events going on right now? Oh cool, shit doesn’t matter, make it happen.”
Like why would I get any Flashpoint? It doesn’t matter anymore, only issues I have is the main title since I am a complesionist, butchered that.
And the reboot isn’t being handled right. I’d be all fine and dandy if they did it right, but nooo. There main objective is to bring in new readers right? So where are the television and magazine ads, billboards, mainstream media attention? Uh…nowhere so far. Listen DC, if a person was not Initially interested in comics, they aren’t going to enter a comic shop usually.
Another thing that is odd is GL and Batman will be the same ole, no reboots there. But how does that work when interacting with other heroes? Like kneepad Superman for example? Just seems like they are telling us that now to keep some drama down but it’s really a soft reboot for them. Seems like it could get a little complicated you know.
I’m not entirely disowning it, I would just like to voice my opinion about it like everyone else here. I am interested in a few titles and to see how this works, I love DC, I just would like to see this handled better. I’m tired of hyped big events that never matter long term and a reboot every 4-10 years.

I’d agree, the main title is the only interesting one, the minis are either hit or miss.
Well we haven’t seen any advertising YET, but I’m under the assumption that they will promote this, since…they have to.

I’m not letting it bother me right now, and things might make sense when the books come out.
Yeah I am trying to remain in wait and see mode but I can’t help but get a little irritated by it all. Guess we will have to see what they do, got until September to win everyone over.
I just hope the Batman mythos is at least being overseen by Morrison, him not actually on a title is a little scary to me.

Morrison’s thoughts on the marriage (just the marriage part) are similar, but he is much more brief on the subject.
Morrison and, I believe Rucka wanted to unmarry Superman years ago, but they figured there wasn’t a logical / healthy way to do it. Morrison did applaud Marvel for unmarrying Spider-Man though, and felt if they gritted their teeth and dealt with the fan backlash for a while they could have their single Spider-Man back.
He didn’t say he liked the method or if he even read OMD. In a nutshell I repeated everything he said about Spider-Man’s marriage at the time. Nothing more, nothing less.
Morrison basically just liked that Marvel gave Spider-man (essentially) his freedom back and stuck to their guns when fan boys rioted. Honestly I wouldn’t have had a problem with Petey not being married, it’s just the way they went about it that fucking got on my nerves, and I didn’t even read at the time.

Now that he did a stint as Batman it’s going to be really hard for DC to write NW as a guy who loses most of the time, so looking forward to him kicking butt.

[spoiler=]I rather liked this more than the other #1s It basically has Ollie run a company called GA Inc. which takes the tech villains use and make a profit out of them.
Ollie is showing off some of his new tech to a group of generals in one of his facilities, but it is then attacked with just about everyone being killed by an assassin.
Ollie fights back using the villains tech in the facility and manages to survive the assassin.
There’s more to this issue, but I thought I’d just give some of the cliff notes ;3[/details]
