it’s been awhile snce i have seen an angry leigh post. gj leigh!!
As long as the continuity is maintained and there’s some logic applied then anything is fine. Unlike some writers (Bendis,Millar) I trust Geoff Johns enough that he knows what’s going on.
I don’t agree with the notion that anything should happen in a comic just because it’s fiction. It has to make sense within the confines of the comic and universe involved.
Right Brightest Day, not Whitest Night like I said.
Blackest Night #8 cover -
Green Arrow - a real super hero.
Oh Christ, the more I read about Cry for Justice, the more I’m glad I decided to pass on it. It sounds horrible.
I don’t understand…
Smallville is offically renewed for the 10th season
Now i said it before and i will say it again: BRING DARKSIED TO THE SHOW he can work as a villian for the show
If the writer will write him like in Seven Soldiers or Final Crisis this thing can work: a god in a human bodies (yes bodies as in mulitple actors) that abuses the shit out of the ALE
In regards to Sano’s post, I think the people that were upset were referring to the revelation that life began on Earth in the DC universe, not literally because comics defy science.
And to darksoul173’s question, no I don’t think it will go down as one of the best events in comics. Besides, isn’t that kind of an oxymoron when referencing comics? Events are always so overly hyped that they can’t possibly live up to anyone’s expectations. However, as far as the GL universe is concerned, I think it’s done wonders. I’ve heard some people complaining that the new Corps make the Green Lanterns less unique, that they are cheap spin-offs, but I disagree. Geoff Johns did it in a way that it all works and makes sense, and you think to yourself, “Of course there are other Lanterns! Why wouldn’t there be?” I think if anything, it’s expanded that universe vastly. It would be extremely foolish to neglect the other Corps after BN, because the possibilities for future storytelling are endless.
Also, when will it be safe to openly discuss BN #7? I’m so excited for my favorite Lantern. <3
Truth be told, the only and proper way to judge it is to read it fully, which is what I plan to do someday.
Mind you the art is awesome from what I’ve seen
Dunno how I feel about Prometheus’ death, but at least he did what he has sought out to do and that is: Evil
Isn’t James Robinson suppose to be DC’s Loeb?
The difference is that Jeph Loeb has never done anything remotely as good as The Golden Age or Starman. Not even Teen Wolf!
A bit of both. People are upset because Earth is only about 4 billion years yours old supposedly and the universe is much older than that (IIRC about 400 billion years or something like that). I mean you don’t even have to be a science wiz to figure out that the sun is older than the Earth.
Then of course there’s the notion that what the book lays out lends itself towards creationism. There’s always people up in arms whenever something like that shows up in comics as opposed to let’s say the evolutionary process, the big bang and all of that which has nothing to do with a supreme being according to science. Even though God, Angels, Heaven, etc. still show up here and there in both Marvel and DC. It’s usually all about whatever the writer wants to do and this is a tough thing to regulate. It’s not like an editor is going to say “You’re belief system is wrong for this world.” Well some of the time these things are left open for readers to interpret however they see fit anyway. Batman’s recent ‘funeral’ story is a great example.
And it does contradict things in DC. Krypton’s supposed to be millions of years older than Earth. If not then you have to say they advanced faster than we did scientifically at a slower rate if Earth came first, but Kryptonians (um, possibly 3 retcons ago maybe) are supposed to be smarter than humans anyway. Unless you go with them being smarter than us because they are much older, I guess but Superman - raised on Earth - USED to be really smart a bunch of retcons ago, Pre-Crisis (which can still be an evolution thing, I suppose). And there’s DC Gods / New Gods who are supposed to be ancient. On the plus side, the Earth is always the center of the Multiverse so in that regard for DC comics it makes sense. I’m kind of repeating myself here though.
I’ve basically heard / read it all. People are upset about all of the above and possible other things. Not everybody of course. There’s a lot of people who don’t care.
Don’t take my word for it though. Fun discussion thread you can check out and see for yourself.

Like I said I don’t really have a problem with it myself. It’s just a comic book and a comic book universe, they can pretty much say it began however they want to and via retcons / crisis’ / whatever they can change their minds on the subject at will.
Geez. Screw science. I want to read stories with cavemen and dinosaurs again and Pluto should be a planet again gosh darn it all to heck! But that’s just me.
At least I don’t recall Marvel or DC dealing with Pluto not being a planet anymore… :wasted:
Pluto is a planet; let no one tell you otherwise Sano.
JMS will be writing Superman & Wonder Woman.I hope he’s gives Diana the Thor treatment
Wizard used to ride Loeb’s nuts & now they are riding Robinson’s.I have a Wizard issue when they did a feature article on him& they treat him like he’s the truth.
The in-depth story on the Return Of Bruce Wayne. That’s how you plan
Greaaaat thank you very much DC now i’m going to spend money on superman too, yeah thank you so much…
Dunno if ill pick Wonder Woman too
So Robin may appear in Batman: AA sequel…I am loling at the NeoGAFers hating on Robin.
It’s not stated which Robin though, but it might be Tim Drake.
Chances are it might actually be Nightwing though.
Yeah I can’t see them using Dick Grayson as Robin since the first game already pushed up Barbara Gordon to be Oracle. Unless it is a prequel story / happens before Batman AA 1.
If they do use Robin, Tim Drake or not I hope they get Scott Menville of Teen Titans fame to provide his voice.
There’s plenty of options for Nightwing. Loren Lester (Batman The Animated Series), Jerry O’Conneli (one episode from ‘The Batman’) or Niel Patrick Harris (the new ‘Under The Hood’ movie coming soon). They can even use Scott Menville (if they don’t use him for Robin) since he did Nightwing on one episode of Teen Titans. I would be happy with anyone of these choices.
Thought this was the DC **Comics **thread. Anyways. What they’re doing to Green Arrow is a joke. Instead of hunting him they should be giving him a damn medal. He’s a real super hero unlike those phonies like the Flash and Batman. Anyone who kills badmen is a super hero. They’re actually saving lives.
Not really. Since PMS is supposedly writing it you’ll only be able to pick up issues every couple of months like Thor.
