I know what you are talking about because I use that trick with my majin vegeta slightly in my fighting style. THERE ARE WAYS TO GET OUT OF IT. Explosive wave is just one of the ways, otherwise just hold block to block the punch and the four fireballs afterwards then sidestep out of the way of the next punch or jump in the air hold square down for a charged air attack since you don’t get knocked back when charging an attack.
It would not work against a human.
Not concerning dialupsucky
Another thing is I don’t understand how most of you people say this game has no depth what so ever. Budokai 3 has no depth what so ever. When I used to play that game all me and my friend would do is pick characters, load on ATTACK UP’s, and two of the same finishing moves (2 turtle waves etc). Then at the beggining of the match activate the attacks up’s by pressing X, down, down. Then it would be a battle to the PPPPE to a 4x teleport smash. So we’d be teleporting back and forth, back and forth, and smashing each other until one of us got the PPPPE 4x teleport smash and the other person had no energy to teleport out, and since there were attack ups the player is dead after the PPPPE to 4x Teleport Smash. Where’s the depth in that? And a PPPPE 4x T. Smash to any normal player would kill them instantly. When in Tenkaichi you have to know whats coming in order to block it. Sidestepping attacks, using Charge attack cancels to bait your opponent. There is depth to Tenkaichi! Just because you are some idiot** DBZ** Fanboy ( OMGZ SUPER SAIYAN 4 GOGETA), who has no sense of strategy what so ever, think before you say theres no depth. This game is a fighting game were you need wits and strategy to out smart your opponent and if you can’t out smart a computer I don’t know what the world is coming to. If you think cell games is hard theres something wrong with you. I whiz through Cell Games with both difficulties on Strong, and Very Strong. The only thing that is a challenge are the high ranks in ULT. BATTLE. I look forward to playing other humans in this game but if you think the Cell Games are hard, you sure as hell won’t be able to beat me.
Welll said brotha well said…He’s right alot of Fanboys mash buttons and just do special moves in order to win…then say that there’s no depth…but I guess you could look at it this way…they actually want the game to have depth while other fanboys just sit at home button mashing and pressing the sequence for specials:wow:
The thing about Mr. Satan is that he IS really strong but he has no sense of ki control period. He even refuses it exists. I mean the reason that everyone else in the series is so strong is because they have their ki to work with. Satan is just relying on pure physical power.
Well im bored so tried finding some glitchs here are a few for now…
If you have after image on, durning a rush super and the opponent has fireballs out, or something to that exstent, you can teleport them while in the rush super and sorta freeze the other guy. Depending on what kinda rush super it is you can still hit the guy, turn your guys invisable and fun stuff like that. Some things dont let you do much other then just do that one p, then triangle thing which throws the guy away so you can toss the guy around the stage like that however they wont take damage.
Vegitos laser sword also has a similar bug bug probably easier to do, just get hit out of by anything while doing it, then you can hit the guy with whatever as long as the laser sword is out.
Theres also some bugs like falling through kamis tower, and other stages. And strange things invoveling things like being able to say being under kamis tower then shooting a laser through it and then it comes up from the top. However seems to be more of a graphical bug as it wont hit the guy. Havnt figured out how to do it though.
Man, the evasive and dodging moves they give you in this game is sick. Dashing, teleporting, jumping. Even techniques like the Super Ghost Kamakize attack, a move I thought could only be blocked, is avoidable. And the After Image technque will save your bacon many times.
Out of all of the fused warriors, Gogeta is my fav, followed up Vegito/Super Vegito. I hardly even use SS4 Gogeta, even though he’s quite possibly the most powerful in the game.
If the guy is rushing at you and they have fire on them, or is doing a rush super or whatever basicly when ever a punching battle is possible, powerd up dash into them on purpose…
The other guy will get stuck in the beating up animation. Somehwhat intresting I guess… Most things will hit him if you try(besides regular and charged up fireballs)but its still fun to watch the guy just flying around in mid air punching nothign getting a 999 hit combo. They are someone homed in on to you so they slowley will follow you around the stage.
The combo meter also bugs out after 999 hits with combos randomly going into 2/35/794/7 typeish registering etc and even sometimes getting just plain static across for the combo stuff.
Other then that not to intresting other then that not sure if its random or not, but some characters or maybe its just random ass randomness will start off wtih a HUGE advantage in the fights.
Ah, okay. I was also wondering: are half the damn good guys psychic to some degree? Son Goku’s lifting pyramids and levitating water from a glass with apparently his mind after he fought Vegeta, him also being able to mentally talk to the whole planet/universe during a genki dama, or all his homeboys on Planet Vegeta-2 when asking for enough energy to beat Brolli…and then there was Gohan and Kuririn’s mental fight on the way to Namek. WTF?
That’s way too strong. I know this is a very stupid thing to argue about, but I doubt she or Satan were actually at the level of Gokou when he competed in his first tournament. Even if she could fly and he couldn’t.
I agree that’s just way too strong. Radditz wasn’t even the weakest guy in DBZ. If you remember he was still stronger than Goku and Piccolo at the beginning of DBZ, and I kind of doubt that Videl is on the same level as Piccolo or Goku at the beginning.
I mean, if you want to go by general KI level, than I don’t really know for sure. Videl might just be Super-Strong with a good ability for KI manipulation. So that really means squat.
I mean, if I had to put her and Satan on some level. I would at least put them at Goku and Yamcha at like the beginning of Dragon Ball. I mean, being able to fly isn’t really that spectacular in the Dragon Ball world. Just about all the chars. are getting beat up and maimed and what not, but they can still fly. Tenshinhan vs Cell, when he was releasing all those Ki blasts to stop Cell, he was wasting a lot of KI yet he was still floating around. So I’m just saying Flying may make you above most normal Human beings, but it really isn’t all that special.
Just picked this up finally and I’m working my way through the story mode.
A few thoughts:
The “survival” story mode matches are bullshit. I was playing the Krillin vs. Dodoria fight and I beasted him and it still counted it was a loss! WTF!?
The audio is glitchy as hell. When it comes to the voices anyways, if you set the voices to Japanese, when you turn the game on later all the menu and story voices will be in English but the battle voices will be in Japanese! I think the translation is pretty accurate though so that’s a good thing. Music is lame.
The “20 different versions of each character” thing is okay…part of me misses the transformations. Being able to play as Chaozu is top tier though.
The game IS really fun, but it has a high learning curve. I’d love to see some match videos once people start mastering the game.
Speaking of competitive play, anyone have an idea of a tier list yet? Even a preliminary one? The “stone wall” characters like Brolly are cheap as hell.
This game needs to be online. I’m not the biggest propnent of online play, but this was made for it. The game seems to have a stealth aspect to it that you can’t really experience vs. the comp or with a split screen.
omg dude I swear I think someone has asked for a tier list like on 7 out of the 10 pages in this thread, and people have always given opionons from what ive seen. I no ive given mine like 5 times all ready.
Glad you’re enjoying the game, ProfessorS. Yeah, the brick wall fighters can be a pain to fight. Although they will flinch with stuns and smash attacks, and throws, any other melee move won’t make them budge and they can inturupt your combo at any time.
BTW, ProfessorS have you fought Ape Vegeta yet in Z Battle Gate?
I WOULD make a few vids this very weekend, but Shin Rodimus did something VERY stupid: he bought this game, Soul Calibur 3, and Star Wars Battlefront 2 ALL on the same day. Since he’s a total Star Wars nerd (he bought a telescoping toy lightsaber flashlight…because it’s a lightsaber), he has barely touched Sparking. Fuck you, Star Wars. You took away my sparring partner/punching bag. I ain’t gonna kill his enthusiasm for this game by ass-raping him…until he gains some skill, and plays the damn game more than half a day.
On another note, last night I was playing through the chapter where you kill the good guys with the Majin Buu incarnations, and I fought Gotenks. I did the Exterminate All Human Life attack, and thought “Bye, bitches.” :badboy: …and Gotenks started teleport-dodging his ass off. He teleported 7 damn times. I was all :wow:. If a person were to do that, would they need to do the teleport dodge command multiple times, or are the subsequent dodges automatic? That shit was unreal…he started a few yards away in front of me, then behind me, then to my left, then further away to my left, then right in front of me, then off-screen, then to my right, and…well, after all that shit he ended up a ways behind me.
They’d need to input the dodge command multiple times. I’ve done multiple dodges on energy volleys, you can sort of mash with a little of the invincibility after the initial teleport, so I’d say the first one is the hardest. Maybe somethin’ a little like parries. But hey I’m no expert I’m shit at those teleports, maybe someone who’s better knows better.
umm yea its just like a rythem to teleporting them all… Ive done it myself shrug…
After image bug also seems to work with the buu thing as well while shooting some fireballs as I was cell once put on after image shot the disc buu did the move the cell decided he wanted to teleport for the next 5 seconds lol.
I know what you mean, Rhio2k. I was watching some COM vs. COM matches the the COM did multiple teleports in a row. I had no idea that could be done.
And yes, those Survival fights in Z Battle Gate can be TOUGH. The hardest one for me was Ape Vegeta. But I just kept shooting him with Kamehameha Waves until time ran out. Just wait until you fight Bojack. Don’t even bother with melee attacks unless you can throw or stun him.
