My dare to Illinois is to have the entire team be consisted of Kens and Elenas. And I will pillage their towns and rape their women and cattle with Twelve. Your children will cry, your women will drown in their own juices in anticipation, your men will either join my side or throw themselves on their own blades, your cattle will cook themselves right in front of me and I will DEVOUR EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM.
Hehe the 2 on 2 was different cause Yun can win like that anytime when its one game, plus no disrespect to Asian Mike (CvS2 player) he was very bad at 3s (he doesnt play it).
Beware of Dudley. He is coming for you all.
And he is hungry…
Hogasha: Ill play Elena and Ken JUST for you!
Haha HYPE! GET HYPE!
pictures that in head
…:wonder:
Asian Mike = CvS2 BEAST. Just stomping cats like crazy.
Olli’s Yun was very, very good. Best I’ve played irl. Hope he’s in top form for DBQ.
Also, Hogosha, UPDATE THE FIRST PAGE!!!
The discussion is officially over!!! This thread is now an all-business thread!!! Get hype, y’all, get hype!!!
Check the stats:
Humbag: Dudley
Flexo: Urien
Part2: Ibuki
Nives: Makoto
(Insert another badass IL player): ???
We’re gonna jump all of you in the parking lot and steal your lunch money!!!
Well, I will be playing on xbox live for the next couple weeks to prep for this. If anyone wants to play, or is near Iowa City, pm me.
Btw, Humbag cheats, he shouldn’t be allowed as part of team Illi.
Edited the first post a little.
– $5 entry fee for each of the singles tourneys (as requested). That cool with everyone?
– Didn’t edit it in yet, but is everyone alright with ponying up a dollar to pay the owner of the place for use of the room?
– 5v5 in 3S. What’s the entry fee gonna be per person? $2? $3? $5?
If you guys want an Alex that was helped by Mightymar than count me in!
$5/tournament works well I think. These days, it’s common for tournament entry fees to be $10 a head (pluse there’s sometimes a $10-20 entrace fee). Ponying up a buck shouldn’t be a big deal for anyone, I think it’s a good idea. Maybe to decide the preferred entrance fee for the 5v5 you should add a poll to the thread?

Okay I’ll bite. What specifically is a “Michigan”?

Nice! I *really *like that team! Three of my top four favorite characters are on your team - Urien,Ibuki,Makoto,(missing Oro). I’ll be sure to watch all the IL matches I can!
What are WI & MN teams lookin’ like?
$5 per head sounds reasonable for 5x5 teams. That would come out to $100 grand prize to split among the 1st place team.
In fact, $5 minimum for each tourney game is probably reasonable. $1-5 entry fee is TOTALLY reasonable.
WI team looks like this:
Arsenal: Ken
Bedfast Emperor: Urien (or Makoto)
Keits: Ken
NappyJin: Elena
Jerry: Hugo
For the 5v5, I’d be alright with it. I wanna keep the 2v2 low so people enter it…it’s more fun if more people enter. With the 5v5, we already know who’s in it.
If we’re planning on doing the 5 vs 5 thing as a round robin (as far as the state vs. state thing goes), then we’ll need to decide on what the tiebreakers are to determine the winner in case multiple teams are 2-1.
Here is what I would suggest:
1st tiebreaker: the head-to-head result against the team(s) tied. If one of the teams beat all other teams that are tied, then they would win the tiebreaker.
2nd tiebreaker: highest total number of wins
3rd tiebreaker: lowest total number of losses
If it is still undecided after that, then we could just split the title/prize. Or we could forget the 2nd and 3rd tiebreaker (or all tiebreakers) and just split the prize if there’s a tie.
Valid point. Could do double-elim. Only drawback in that is that two of the teams won’t play each other (one of the teams that wins their first round won’t play the team that lost the other first round match and the match after that), other than that there’s a clear-cut 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
Otherwise, if we do the tiebreaker like you have it, the first scenario won’t come up with three teams (if Team A beats Team B and C, one of those can’t possibly have two wins), so that one would be easy to resolve in a more fun way if it’s only two teams: just have them play off. If it does end up being three teams, either do it the wins/losses way you have above or do some sort of play-off (like pick the captain from each and have all three of them play each other until one beats the other two straight).
In English…
Two-way tie = team v team playoff.
Three-way tie = either team captains playoff or decide by how many wins each team had.
There are only 4 possible ways that a round robin of 4 teams can turn out:
| r1 | r2 | r3 | r4 |
--------------------------------
TEAM A | 3-0 | 3-0 | 2-1 | 2-1 |
TEAM B | 2-1 | 1-2 | 2-1 | 2-1 |
TEAM C | 1-2 | 1-2 | 1-2 | 2-1 |
TEAM D | 0-3 | 1-2 | 1-2 | 0-3 |
In result 1 and result 2, we have a clear winner. In result 3 we have a 2 way tie. However, either team A beat team B when they played or vice versa. If team A did beat team B, then team A would be the overall winner. In result 4, no team beat all of the other teams tied with it, so we would go to additional tiebreakers.
My first post was worded a bit oddly, but I wasn’t suggesting we do a playoff if there was a tie (although we could I suppose). I was suggesting that the result from the match played between the two teams decide which team should be the overall winner.
Also, unless it turns out as result 1, we’re going to have a tie somewhere. I’d guess that states will want to know which place they were, so maybe we should use tiebreakers to determine all of the final placings.
oh snapz! mike & wes reppin mn!!! gonna be a dandy!
i notice team IL doesn’t have a ken, chun, or yun … yet …
is it okay that andrew and i both play ken on team WI?
This tourney’s gonna be awesome.
I have to defend my GG title. =)
Hopefully, no random tornadoes that last five minutes. And no old white women freaking out about it. How silly.
