I really dont care if we do arcade 3s, the difference between really situational unblockables and for sure 60% damage combos is not really an hugely devistating loss.

Yea…I don’t want to wait til like July to start playing Brawl when I could save money and have one like before the end of April. I’m pretty broke nowadays so I have to weigh out my options.
And besides the only tournament I’d do well, would have been Tekken/MIRA. And they aren’t even running that. Kinda surprised to see that Brawl isn’t in the line up…but hey, it is…what it is…

I’d say that in order to make all parties involved satisfied, you should have a nominal door fee. That way, the owner is making $$$ someway from the tourney, and the players get Freeplay Arcade 3S all day.
Also, I’m aware that Ver. B’s biggest change is no unblockables + some other minor character-specific 1P/2P side corner resets, but I was using that Ken example just to illustrate a major component of a character’s arsenal being taken away.
Either way, that’s sick that you’re allowing us to play on VS cab 3S. Ver. A or B, it matters not.
I can say right now that for the team tourney in 3s I’m going to need to use ps2. Urien with no unblockables = shit clogged in toilet with no plunger
If you havent heard yet MWC this year is no longer EVO north HOWEVER there will be 3s SBO qualifiers held instead (as well as ST).
Right now they are looking at using the shitty shitty nickel city cabs w/american sticks and buttons.
They say that if people were to bring h2h cabs we could use them. I know this is asking a lot, but Im just putting this out there for yall to think about.

I’d run Brawl as a main tourney, but it takes forever. We had a 7 person double-elim tourney (3 stock matches, mind you) on one Wii last night take nearly three hours. With that said, hopefully we’ll have time and space enough to run a side tourney for it.
I vaguely recall there being a Burger King on JFK Rd. Are there other fast-food type places there and is the owner cool with people bringing in fast food and eating in that back-game area?
Does the place have a website? Pictures?
Oh, and I’d like to see these Versus cabs if possible too.
I don’t know if they have a website, but there are two portions to the shop; the comic/card area and the “game” room. The comic/card area is pretty standard sized, more narrow/long than wide/fat. Tons of comics, wall to wall, and tons of cards w/ glass displays. Then, at the back end of the area is a doorway. This doorway leads to a magical land of wide open space. WAY bigger than the comic/card area. Lots of tables, presumable for Heroclix/Warhammer/etc, lots of chairs, and the bathroom is back there too (but it’s hidden).
Space will not be a problem at all.

I like looking at those WarHammer setups (even though I have no desire to learn how to play it). The layout of those things is pretty crazy! They used to have a table top game store at a mall around here but they didn’t last more than a year.
I play Magic, so Comic World is like heaven to me. And I collect comics too.
It’s a really nice place. Lots of wide open space, it’s sectioned off so you feel like the comic/card section isn’t even there to bother you.

Games only last like 4-6 minutes So the most each round would be like 15 minutes.

Here’s a link of the actual cabinets themselves. This is not where they are setup, this is just where I worked on getting them refurbished, etc. These are at Comic World right now and will be there for the tournament (unless something catastrophic happens).
Yeah, Comic World’s back room has HELLA space. It’s really dirty right now, but maybe me and mike and the owner can work on that before tourney time.
Note: I am replacing all buttons and joysticks 3-5 days prior to the tournament day to ensure the highest quality of play on the cabinets. I will have extra hardware on site the day of the tournament as well just incase.
