Dayton, Ohio: Where fun goes to die

Online play is never a good representation though. I run into good players on GGPO all the time, but its no substitute for the real thing, all hollow victories/losses. Since Juice won’t be coming to SB4 I’ll just have to watch HAV in person, I saw some of his C3 vids. I wish my connection to Deviljin didn’t stop working around July…he was really good Viper practice.

And FADC’d rekkas can be reversaled cause 80% of the time abels try to some kind of dash string RIGHT after. Like…

Honda Headbutts - Kens Fierce shoryu - Balrog Headbutts - Ryu Shoryus - Rufus EX messiah - Giefs Lariat - Blankas Upball or (reg. ball/ultra) and many many other things.

Not to mention I never realized this until today… abel can reversal himself better than he can against himself…

Oh matt I agree , there is a big difference from playing people online/offline and watching them on videos/rel life. But as I said its just my opinion.

GG’s to everyone tonight. (shouts outs later) im sleepy as fuck.

FADCs aren’t that safe except dashing back. Negative frames… so a Rog would just jab away at you dashing in, quick invincible moves on start up will rape you, teleport, blah blah. If you play damn good mind games block strings a hand full of that lame shit will work.

Unlike regular back dashes, FADCs aren’t invinsible.

Fast though.

Ha, I’ve gotten used to it.

Alright, there gonna be something going down tonight? I won’t find out till I get off work, lol but uh, I’l try to contact somebody from there. Unless someone has my Cell number. (I forget)

Somebody (inevitably) uploaded the evo finals on youtube. My Ryu needs to:

-Throw way more fireballs for meter/annoyance.

-Shoryu (blocked) FADC throw/shoryu mixup more often

-FA less. In a poke absorbing way, that is. I’m gonna try to be less risky all around. Ryu is not Rufus.

-Tech throws. Its not that hard dummy.

-Use less ex fireball and moar super. That move WILL hit if I can build up my meter savings account.

-Chill out on FA, F+Fierce, Shoryu, FADC, ultra. No damage.

-Learn how to not lose to Dictator for free.

-Work people into the corner from the ground. Time to jump in way less.

Anyway games at my place tonight. I’ll be home around 9:30pm but Amanda will be around all night so you don’t have to wait for me. Can somebody bring a TV/game setups? Imma buy a old school TV but don’t have time today.

I can bring a TV and PS2, anytime after 6 is good for me.

Well then come on by all means. I’ll throw some texts to people and see if I can’t get a group together.

Adam- I started playing 2df again on a new laptop. Still a little shaky on Vista though but not to bad. We’ll have to start playing again soon.

I gotta wait for my uncle to get back in town so we can switch the stick on my HRAP. It’s too loose I hate it anymore…and I feel like the diagonals are too awkward.

I posted this in the Cincy thread aslo but I know some of you guys don’t really bother with it so here it is for Dayton.

I’m ready to start the Monday night movie nights pretty soon. I wanted to get some input on a great awesomely bad flick to start it off with. Video game related if possible. I’m sure everyone will have a different movie in mind. Each week will will be some sort of crazy film (Asian splatter, weirdo cult classic, Zombies, Giallo, anything with Crispin Glover, weird animation, maybe even film noir) or something new and interesting that didn’t make it to theaters. I’m always looking for suggestions. Here are some I have come up with so far - Dead Snow, Pig Hunt, Tokyo Gore Police, Big Man Japan, Machine Girl, any classic Shaw Bros kung fu flick, Survive Style 5+, The Avenging Fist (the unofficial TEKKEN movie), The Story of Ricky, nearly any Takashi Miike film, Aachi and Ssipak, Robo-Geisha, Sukeban Boy, Hardware, The Sinful Dwarf… so many films, so little time

In case you didn’t read it a couple months back, here was my plan:

$5 entry after 7pm. That gets you up to 3 hours of gaming and then we shut the games down and start the movie at 1015ish. You are welcome to come all day if you like and pay the regular $10 admission if you want to get some serious game time in. This will be a bring your own CHAIR event. We do have the 4 super comfy chairs and a bunch of not as comfy chairs which anyone is welcome to use. I’d just recommend bringing your own comfy chair. You can even bring your recliner if you want to tote it to the arcade.

I can set up all the PS3s and 360s for casuals/training like we did last night if you want to just make it a game night as well. Seems like a good idea.

For those of you who haven’t been to AL, we have a 106 inch screen with a HD projector and KILLER audio setup for movies. I will run this for at least a month and see if we get enough interest.

Don’t forget there’s going to be games at my place. Matt I better see your face!

We have plenty of seats now. Two couches and a love seat. So no excuses!

Matt I dont check this often enough so call me if you want to do something, but chances are I need rides from somebody to do anything.

VDO KEEP REPRESENTIN THAT ARAKUNE

No Guilty Gear = probably no face from me.

Don’t you like 3s, Mathew?

I’m pumped for SF4…I’m glad a couple of us decided to like it at once, so rare lol.

Well Matt, Adam is bring an extra TV and there’s a loveseat near the table so you can play in comfort

Well, I enjoy 3s to an extent, and I’m starting to enjoy 4 again a little, but the crux of the matter is that it’s been so long since I’ve played GG that it’s time for me to start being a little selfish. Haven’t played it against anyone since BB came out. I’m also sad because I wanted to set up a GG thing today, but nobody sounded interested.

Also, I just found out a friend of mine has lymphoma somehow, (they gave him a good prognosis though) but I might go visit him tonight if I hear back from him. I doubt it will be tonight though, and even if I do go see him, it won’t be all night.

My other option is to go play Tekken with Skeez if he doesn’t change his mind and decide to hang out with you guys.

If I do go, is it worth it for me to bring a TV or not? Because I totally could. Just wondering about space. Also, it’s probably going to be as hot as (if not hotter than) a mug in there. Can I bring GG friends? Can I bring Jordyn?

You are more than welcome to bring anything you want. And yes, Jordyn is more than welcome here.

Throw me your number. That way it’s easier to talk to you.

Double post: you can bring your GG friends and I’ll break Lee’s arm if he tries to turn the air conditioner off.

He has fair warning.
