Storm, magneto & Wolverine are the only current x-men members… x23 on leave. phoenix dead. mags doesnt really count as hes portrayed as baddie in the game. sentinel isnt anything near an xman. deadpool is not an x-men member but is currently being paid by warren to be in x-force
The point is "X-Men characters*, not necessarily characters that are part of the group, but characters that are part of the X-Men universe and storylines, in other words mutants. Magneto hasn’t been a X-Men for most of his existence and yet he’s a X-Men character.

While what you have said is true, I think they are referring to the fact they are all characters from the X-Men franchise of the Marvel Comics universe, not that they are all on one team.

The logical conclusion here is that Nemesis is not a Resident Evil series rep because he is dead as of the most recent RE game, or that using Lawyer Phoenix Wright means Ace Attorney is unrepresented since as of current continuity in AA Phoenix Wright plays poker and gets hit by cars.
Or that Fantastic Four is a completely unrepresented Marvel imprint because Doom, Taskmaster, and Skrull are all bad guys.

Capcom never said that. Capcom was going to add Human Torch but the death of Human Torch arc was shown to Capcom and Marvel suggested Skrull.
They did RAM issues to hide the real reason.

I dont think anyone is nitpicking enough to talk about where the lie within the series, just the fact that they are form X-men, dead or alive, relevant or not, on a new series or not…there are more X-men in this game than any other group.
The hints for Firebrand/Red Arremer kinda sealed it for me that Chibi/Lupinko knew what they were talking about. The hints for Firebrand couldn’t really be linked to anyone else, doujin, crossover game, spits fire, red and horny… etc.
Bill Cosby being Doc Strange is pretty hard to relate to someone else too. As much as someone may think Lupinko was trolling, I find it very hard to associate at least half a dozen of his riddles with characters asides from who they wound up being, unless you want to make much larger leaps.
Yes, some of the hints are a bit of a reach, but they were meant to be cryptic so he wouldn’t get someone in trouble. His original SSF4, MvC3, and Mortal Kombat leaks were all spot on, so it’s hard to doubt he has inside info. I’m kinda just disappointed he’s not leaking the SF X Tekken roster.
For MvC3, right now I kinda doubt there’s anything to be leaked. Till shipment numbers come in I doubt they have the green light to go ahead full bore with finishing other characters, and hopefully all their time right now is spent on tweaking UMvC3. Which characters were going to be apart of the 58 could always change too, like Doc Oc not being in the game though he had obviously been explored at one time.
Seriously X in MvC3 would be a nice pick for the UMvc3 dlc roster.
I never really like Zero always sw him as a cheap protoman rip off.
