I made a thread here, hope you don’t mind.

my thoughts exactly… if they have a single pcb that’s easy to work with i’d buy one just for that as well.

Wow, I’m super curious to see how this pans out. I’d buy one too. What’s the purchase/pre-order url?

Hey Laugh.

A couple of quick questions:

Does the joytron use full sanwa parts?
Is it mod friendly like the madcatz SE and TE sticks?

so who’s going to take the plunge and buy one of these things and rip it apart to see if it actually works for both systems?

WOW, this is nuts, that one PCB does both PS3 and X360? it’s beaten microsoft’s security chip or is this officially licensed?

I’m tempted just to buy this stick to rip out the PCB…

This looks awesome, no more dual modding, it’s already done for you!! just shove this pcb in a shell and away you go.

Holy crap. That PCB looks so ultra simple too!

whoa. that is an insane price for such a good dual-mod pcb.

i guess it’s a gamble though without knowing if microsoft are going to attempt to lock it out or something.

Bought!!!
Wait!!! Toodles, what do you think of the PCB?
@Laugh- What type/size of QD’s does it use? It looks like the stick has QD’s.

laugh - firstly, thank you for those excellent quality pics. The build is identical to the previous Mayflash models.

If purchasing one of these sticks from your etokki.com website, will you offer customers a refund if Microsoft lock out the Xbox 360 compatibility?

Thanks for your help…

That’s pretty solid. If this ends up being 100% legit I may just have to save up for one of these.

Does the cable use breakaways like the madcatz and hori sticks?

This is asking too much. Laugh doesn’t have any control over that.

So it’s essentially a mayflash with a pre-installed security chip for 360?

The buttons look like they’re soldered to the pcb. Is that right or are they connected via a plug/pin like the stick?

Thanks for the info and pics, Laugh. Much appreciated!

They use the rubber contact type buttons; no soldering. That’s what makes modding a mayflash ultra easy. Just take the whole second board out, unplug the buttons and put in your own stuff, wiring directly to the main board.
This is insane though; XBOX and PS3 and PC without any effort whatsoever.
I have a few old Mayflash sticks (modded) and their PCB’s are rock solid…always have been. I have no doubt this one is as well. Let’s just hope it doesn’t get banned with an update.

Thanks for the pics, Laugh

No security chip.

That ARM chip on board is probably doing all the magic, it’s a microcontroller. They’ve probably broken the Xbox360 encryption.

The security chip has a big ol’ X on it and that’s all that’s on it. That’s not what’s going on here. An ARM chip is usually used for embedded CPUs, the little chip next to it is probably some sort of program ROM. It probably doesn’t take a lot to encrypt the connection, you just need to know the algorithm.
