Dat Stark Industries Technology: The MvC3 Iron Man Combo Thread V2

the one i see him use the most is

:d::l:,:d::m:,:s:, SJC, j.:h:, FLY ,j.:m:, j.:d::h:, UNFLY, ADDF, j.:d::h:,:d::m:, :h:, :s:, SJC, j.:m:, j.:m:, j.:h:, j.:d::h:,:u:, j.:m:, j.:d::h:, j.:s:,

Thanks a lot!

When trying to do the Autopilot combo (that’s what it’s referred to mostly or ADDF combo as I tend to call it) I have one tip to help you potentially knock it out 90/100 times without any problem.

I noticed that for some reason early this week I suddenly ‘lost’ the ability almost entirely to do the combo, I turned on the input notifications to see if I was doing something weird…nothing really showed up obvious. Finally Wednesday I figured out what the heck I was doing “wrong”.

The main problem lies in the bolded section…

c.M, S, sjc, H, fly, M, d.H, unfly, ADDF, d.H…etc.

If you’re not careful you will get an air tag on the unfly move…even though you’re doing the EXACT same thing as the fly motion you did 2 seconds before. The problem lies in that you have to do unfly, then immediately ADDF…if you aren’t paying attention you will end up pressing S juuuust as you press DF instead of just at the moment of qcb motion. It sounds like the most obvious thing to see, but I assure you it can be difficult do spot when doing the combo.

Make sure that you take your time to perfect the timing of transitioning from QCB to DF. You don’t have to do the combo at the speed of light, you just have to make 100% sure your execution is on crisp. You still need speed for the transistion, but you have some time still.

Also it should be mentioned that the easiest way to get the ADDF is to just use the button priority (just like SF games) to your advantage. Don’t try to double tap DF…just hold DF and press M+H twice quickly. The first time you press it you’ll get a dash DF, the second time you’ll get a d.H. Remember when you’re pressing two buttons together you will always get the stronger of the two buttons as a result, and that is why you end up getting that since you can’t dash twice in the air anyway.

Keep those things in mind, and you’ll be knocking back huge damage in no time.

I have just started to try to do Iron Man’s Mission 9. Seems to be pretty difficult. Did you ever finish the mission David?

Does anyone have any tips for completing Iron Man’s Mission 9? Can you do it in x factor? Also, do you have to time the button presses or just do the combo (after fly) as fast as possible. I’m not an Iron Man player but I am a completionist and this is one of the last three missions that I have to go :frowning: Thanks guys!

Might I suggest that people do the original Fly/unfly combo. It does more damage than the Autopilot combo and the iron man players here in my state are doing it consistently in matches. You can do it. Just takes some practice but once you got it, you can do it on any character.

I very much prefer to use a ground fly combo than the autopilot style combos honestly. When I KNOW I have a chance to land a ground fly combo, then that’s what I go for. However with the spacing Iron Man has at times, it’s risky to go for the ground fly combos since if the L misses at the start…end of combo…and huge opportunity lost from getting in. That is the ONLY real reason why I usually go for an autopilot style combo since it’s FAR easier to ensure you hit…as long as of course you have the execution to do it. Ground fly combos really aren’t hard at all…it’s just that if you’re not at perfect spacing the L after the fly misses, and that’s that. :frowning:

I still spend time every day that I train with Iron Man, to think of a way to consistently land a ground fly combo (away from the corner).

Ground combos not only do more damage than any others, but they also just look soooooooooo viscious…or rabid dog like might be a better description. (oh, and they build a ton of meter too)

Actually, if you time your inputs correctly, you can unfly using D,DB,B,DF S>Button+Button>H. The good thing about this input is that you are guaranteed to dash after the unfly at the fastest moment possible.

that really works?

I’ve tried it n got exchange

It’s crazy that there are so many diffrent ways to do this same combo

^Usually that means you’re hitting S and another button too close together causing S to plink. If not then you’re pressing S too slowly after D,DB, B, DF.

Yo, because the alert system sucks here, if you have a combo you think she be added up, just pm it to me.

ok so i ive FINALLY found my problem with doing the autopilot BNB starter. for anybody else that is having problems with the unfly ADDF H part heres how it goes:

you have to take into account that when you do the M,d.H unfly. that the down H takes a significant amount of time to chain from the m… this means that you dont necessarily have to do the d.H xx unfly as if its a streetfighter cancel… it can be delayed noticeably… this allows you do something else which is RETURN YOUR STICK TO NEUTRAL before canceling into unfly… it really becomes alot easier when just taking those 2 small steps of:

  1. slightly delaying your unfly input.
    and
  2. during the delay take the time to return your joystick to neutral instead of holding down.

finally the addf:

addf H is so easy using the inputs that i just showed. instead of trying to do that whole combo as if its one big long string that has to be blasted quickly from one part to another it becomes a combo which is basically a combination of 4 smaller 2 hit combos done with slight delays:

  1. c. :l: :m: :s:
  2. j. :h: xx fly
  3. j. d+:m: :h: (neutral)
  4. unfly, d/f + :m:+:h: x2

anywho i figure that all the folks that can do the autopilot bnb consistently are doing it this way as well.
just wanted to get the info out there since i literally wasted a month in training mode trying to do it a more “streetfighter” way… so to speak.

dose tk smart bombs give you average launch in the corner it feels like it should work

It does

is it only a certain setup before or character specific.?

wait, so you can do something like jS > land > TK Smart Bombs > jMjH > land > crM > etc.? Don’t have my PS here right now or else I’d try it myself

I posted this combo on the previous page if you guys didn’t see. I’m assuming this is what you’re talking about?

sort of ,

after learning as far as I can see max damage , I just wanna try n push the damage up abit more ,
just wanted to see if doing this type of re launch cab get a higher overall max damage

what I wanted was a a re launch of a max damage combo already

I think you’d need to call an assist like Sent Drones as you launch then immediately spike into it. For the longer combos, when you relaunch, they’ll pop out either after the smart bombs or if you try to air chain into the sj.S.

There’s not much room for creativity at that point; you’re probably better off comboing into repulsor blast to end the combo.

What I posted is about as fancy as you can get before it doesn’t work anymore from what I could tell. It would be awesome if you could figure out something better though.

For the autopilot combo the way I do the d.H->unfly->ADDF part is to just roll with the unfly motion after I hit the d.H. Take some time to practice fly–>d.H–> unfly to figure out the timing, because if you do unfly too fast the d.H won’t come out/you’ll get an air tag. After you figure it out just ADDF and rape face.

Just another way to do it if Dime’s method didn’t work for you.

Al u are my hero!
