Dunno Lei-Lei’s theme in VS gets it’s ass kicked when compared to VH Lei-Lei theme.
I don’t like the scratches and vocal rewinds in VH. Her VS version is so smooth :D.
I don’t know much about the competitive gameplay, but I LOVE this series’ presentation. The animation is brilliant (Anakaris alone is a freaking masterpiece in that regard), the characters’ designs are fun and memorable, and the music is great. I particularly like [media=youtube]CCf0mFC3nNs&feature=related[/media] (with the “Owner of a Lonely Heart” horn stabs and all). All the little hidden gags and such are great too, like the various things the characters will transform into when cursed by Anakaris, sliced in half by Bishamon, or Midnight Blissed by Demitri.
IIRC, she’s higher in VH than in VS, probably because of the Sand Splash and Rolling Scratch, both of which she lost.

She’s better in VS, but she’s mid tier or high mid at best. Every character has an excellent mixup game, her’s is better than average. The rewards aren’t nearly as satisfying as others, but she can stay on it for a good amount of time. The reason she isn’t as good in high level is because her neutral game isn’t as high priority, or solid as other characters. Her threats aren’t as devastating as well, and she’s more of a nerfed Sasquatch and usually overlooked as just that. She’s still my favorite character of all time though :bgrin: and your avatar is awesome.
edit: Oh and in VH she just blows, even though she gets a few more moves they don’t really give her an advantage. She’s very light on damage there, and she can be zoned out easily and kept away, or rushed down since her GC isn’t as good.
I was screwing around a bit in the Darkstalkers collection on a modded PS2 at the last Cincy 2D gathering, and I wanted to load up the old-ass Darkstalkers…
I went into the options to make sure my buttons were set properly (stick FTW), and for shits and giggles, I checked the Game Options. There was an entry marked Character, with either 10 or 12 as choices. Turns out that you can actually choose which version of the character select you use, or in other words, selectable Huitzil and Pyron. They even have their own Command List ‘cards’.
Of course, someone wanted to challenge me, and it turns out Pyron is busted as all hell, but unfortunately, it was all I could do to waste my opponent’s Sasquatch.
It’s nice to see that Capcom finally put the programmed extras (2P palettes, endings, controller motions, etc.) to use for this game.
I play the Darkstalkers collection every now-and-again for nostalgia’s sake. The visuals and music in that series were amazing and still hold up pretty well today; but I seriously doubt we’ll see another Vampire/Darkstalkers game for a while (if ever).

Anyone have Darkstalker Chronicles: The Dark Tower for PSP? It’s great. Oboro Bishamon is by far the best.
it would’ve been great if Dark Tower was on ps3 with online play. It’s really hard to play on the PSP.

Yeah listen to Mag if you are just learning the game,he his the one to hit up on GGPO. VS is my favorite game and it can be a deep game (mop). But it seems not much love from the US unlike Japan.
I’d be up for some games in GGPO. I get 100-ish ms ping with dudes like sibladeko and Kai which is playable outside of missing out some important GC points and messing up my DF cjab combo with Morrigan. Leilei players might have problems doing Tenraiha fast.
Who knows but I’ll see what I can do to slowly bring VS back up in Britland. Damn the only VS cab in here self destructed.
Game is awesome though.
Vampire Rules. I’ve been getting on GGPO a good amount lately. I’m a pretty solid player and am willing to help new players learn for sure. I’ve still got some pieces in my game I need to step up though. One of my arcade boards I treasure the most for sure though, just wish I could get some comp face to face (Not a whole lot of vampire players in Lexington Ky)
