People whines to much about the characters instead of other things, SFxT is a good example lol people complaining for the exclusive characters when you already have 43 characters available and a lot of content, DS has a decent roster, it would be dumb to not include all the fan favorites.
Capcom should let those Reverge guys take a swing at a new Darkstalkers. Their characters are wacky enough, and we already know they can make a good game (although I haven’t played, but I have a good feeling).
I agree with this. It’d add a little freshness to the whole formula.
Eh, letting Reverge work on DS isn’t a good idea. Sure, they’ve got competent game designers (as much as we know anyway), but they’re new and SG hasn’t even proved itself yet and they wouldn’t get the feeling right (no offense to them). SG is influenced by DS, but it’s a different kind of cartoony.
Then again what do I know
I’m not holding my breath for the possibility of Darkstalkers 4 being 2D. Would be nice but there’s no chance in hell of it happening.
I don’t see why any of you care that it got renewed, I would bet a million dollars all of you will just bitch about it when it comes out or not buy it.
I’d buy it.
I mean c’mon, if I can have fun playing Ultimate surely Capcom can’t fuck it up so hard that I wouldn’t like DS4.
Probably true, but I’m over the complaining. VSav will always be there and I already stopped playing shitty games in favor of the stuff I like instead. It’s fucked up when people who don’t know shit about Darkstalkers say that it needs to play more like Street Fighter without even knowing how Savior plays though.
They’re probably the only chance we’ve got at getting a 2D style game though. Capcom will certainly have a bunch of say when it comes to the gameplay too. This sudden realization makes me think that I wouldn’t want Reverge doing it and then experiencing the hate from the community for something they were not totally in control of…
I’d like to see what the Team Fortress 2 artists could do with the DarkStalkers franchise. Those guys are really good at character design and stylized 3D modeling. I’m sure they would do it more justice than the artists at Capcom or Dimps.
That’s… not a bad idea actually. If Darkstalkers absolutely must be a 3D game for whatever reason I’d prefer to see it in a more stylized TF2/Borderlands style.
2.5D is ugly
what if the trademark renewal is just for some comics
2.5D is also very cost effective. Making sprites is hard and if there’s one thing Capcom doesn’t like to do it’s taking risks.
If the trademark renewal is just for some comics then I will be a very sad man.
That’s just part of the whole process. Most of the time what anyone wants is simply for their game of choice to be a current game in the larger community. Everyone just wants more competition, an easier time finding like minded people and recognition from a wider audience.
The people playing now actively are playing because they truly enjoy what that game is exactly as it is. A new game would likely change things up which can often feel forced and hard to swallow. It’s a pretty natural reaction.
All the guys who I know who currently play and were playing 3S when SF4 came out don’t much care for SF4. They’re playing 3S because that is exactly what they enjoy, not because it’s the current mainstream fighting game. Usually those groups are the absolute hardest to convince. So yeah most likely the legitimate Vampire playing community will be upset about some stuff if a DS4 ever releases.
eh dont worry about it, they’ll know what it feels like when sf5 and mvc4 come out
So THIS is why they were trying to trademark the name:
I doubt it. This generation isn’t as crotchety and jaded as the previous one. They’re a bit more open-minded.
Doesn’t make sense. Didn’t they already release the first one on PSN?
Well then.
That’s… all I can really say.
(Right when I get GGPO running again too. I knew this was going to happen, lol)
The lack of XBL support is odd and will, if it doesn’t get one, fragment the playerbase.
The funny thing is, I was thinking about this the other day. If it’s one game that has cartoony models that have aged well, it’s TF2. Dunno if they should be the actual ones doing it obviously, but it’s interesting to think about.
It’s a PS1 Classic though, not a rerelease. That means it won’t have online. …I think.
Lol you mean the ones blowing up everything not SF for being “animaaaaaaaaaaay” or not in 3D or old?
Everyone is not the same and it’s useless to speak as if they were. Some people will try it, some people will like the change, some people won’t, some people would hate the change, etc. Everyone is different and that’s beautiful <3
