Because capcom cant top sega virtua fighter unfortunately sega can market a game for feces even bayonetta is getting hype through word of mouth not advertising
To be honest I would rather see it remixed like they did with SF:II just balance and changes in gameplay mechanics

I don’t think it would be that much of a problem, just difficult. Motion Blur, shaders and texture filters can go a loooong way to making any complicated 3D animation bite-sized and console-friendly.
Obviously it’d be way harder than making a game like SFIV look good, but if they did it, it’d sure be some kind of epic achievement in move from sprite artwork to 3D models.

Ono said he was interested in making a 2.5D Darkstalkers, but how does Capcom even know a game like that would sell? Darkstalkers wasn’t popular in the US, and in Japan its got a small scene.
Im 100% positive VS was a hit in japan. It was @ SBO for a few years as a tourney game so that within itself meant it had an above average scene. As a matter of fact, it still gets good play in japan today.
I believe it was stated in this thread or another thread about VS that this game was over shadowed by SF @ the time. Many US players missed out on this game including myself. It wasn’t until I played it on DC randomly one day that I learned how good the game is. Easily one of the best games I’ve ever played 2d\3d. If VS had came out during an era where SF wasn’t dominating the scene, the americans would of probably been playing it.
This game was big in Japan, but console fighters don’t sell well over there. Heck, most of the top players only play at the arcades (Daigo refuses money matches VS console characters:looney:). And it seems that the arcade scene is getting weaker over there.
