Morrigan is one of the hardest characters to play efficiently. I doubt many will choose her, unless they are fast and precise enough to pull DI combos. But then, they’d use that skill to fare better with stronger characters.
She’s a lot better in Night Warriors, and I’ve heard that lots of people played as her back when it was popular in arcades.

The most important aspect of Vsav is having an extremely strong neutral. learning some shitty combo is the least of Morrigan mains worries.
I have no idea why neutral isn’t emphasized as much as everything else. I never lost a game cuz some scrub could do a DI combo.
DI combos are not that hard if you practice, and its not something that you have to learn right away. If people stop using her, it will be because of her lack of options compared to the other characters, not because of DI combos.
if ur playing someone thats on ur level or lower, neutral game is very doable. but once u play someone better all that shit goes out the window. its the most important part of vsav like u said but also the hardest.

I have a question: What’s to say this doesn’t fall into the same category as MSH / MvC? Nobody plays either.
IMO, we need to involve the series’ large casual fanbase.
Also, if folks can come up with alot of content/media, I’ll do my best to front page it.
Still though, I don’t think VS is going to do as well as some people imagine. I feel like the ones that are super hype about it are just the loudest, which doesn’t account for much honestly. The game is a complex and deep fighter, but it’s also old. Super Turbo has that nostalgia, as well as Marvel 2 and 3S. Considering at least in the west, CvS2 was very popular, it would do well also. MSH / MvC / Jojo’s all did horribly with their revivals. Vampire Savior doesn’t even have much of a scene on GGPO as far as I can tell. Last time I checked those rooms out, there were maybe a dozen people in them, whereas Super Turbo was tremendous (and lets not talk of KoF98). I want it to do better than simply being a one-shot trend for a week or so, and last quite some time, but I just don’t know that realistically I see that happening right now. It’s quite a bit frustrating.
Then again, maybe (hopefully) I’m wrong and it will outsell everything ever. This is one of those cases that I hope I’m wrong.
