Weird question, while were on the subject of VSav2, what was the point of those games (including VH2)? What was Cap trying to do, were they just experimenting?
Savior 2 and Hunter 2 was quick cash grabs also a different team developed them.
I don’t think anyone really knows the whole story, but one rumor I’ve heard repeated is that part of the motivation was the management wanting to use up a lot of excess CPS2 boards the company had lying around. The reason it’s 2 separate games is that they wanted to bring back the characters who were cut during the jump from Hunter to Savior, but the CPS2 board doesn’t have enough ROM capacity to hold the graphics for all 18 characters on one board (which is why they were cut in the first place). There was only like 3 months between the releases of Savior and VS2/VH2, so it was done in a hurry. Supposedly the initial reaction to Savior was also pretty mixed, so maybe they felt they had to do some sort of update to try and regain players’ favor. Although of course it backfired and VS2/VH2 died instantly while Savior still gets played regularly today.
they also removed the original endings in VS2, probably to save space. all characters have the same ending
since the console releases later added all characters and you could play all three games at once, no one bothered with the arcades anymore.
You consider EX edition and Chronicle a port, lmao.
Uhh… I’d fathom that the arcade versions still get more play to this day than any of the console ports.
Yeah, particularly since the series is most popular in Japan, where arcade tends to be the standard. And Chronicle was disliked because of it’s strange inaccurate mashup nature.
I meant outside Japan where the sequels were not released. they preferred to cash from the console ports, based on the success of the original

I wasn’t talking about Japan like Felineki and d3v were.
Chronicle sucks none of the characters really play like the older versions. The older characters in HSF2 at least the differences were minor with the them enough to not notice a difference for awhile, but in Chronicle it was outright different.
Vsav EX Edition the PS1 version has different hitboxes, choppy animation which causes different frame data, different turbo speeds(frameskip), and the choice to play as the vsav2 versions how is it considered a port when even the title says it isn’t?
Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection(PS2) wasn’t released outside of Japan so only a few fans got it stateside.
I wouldn’t put it past’em, to be honest.
Damn shame they didn’t try this on the CPSIII.
SO excited for this shit. Looks like I’ll need to get some skills on GGPO before this comes out.
I know little about this game in terms of its mechanics…so could someone throw a tier list my way? From what I’ve seen, Talbain seems like he’d be pretty far up there.
Talbain is the Ken of this game. You’re gonna see every furry and their mother picking him up on day one.
I’d have thought we’d see more Demitri frankly. He’s got the projectile and “seemingly” difficult to punish DP right there waiting for him, on top of being a pretty badass character.

[*]**Tiers plz.**
[/LIST]
The tiers are rather subjective and tend to shift around a bit. Fortunately the game is really quite balanced (for a Capcom game) and there isn't much of a difference in strength between the top/mid/bottom tiers. There are very few 8-2 matchups and there are no 9-1 matchups. Most matchups are close to even.

[*]Top- Sasquatch, Zabel, Q-Bee, Gallon, Bulleta.
[*]Mid- Felicia, Bishamon, Demitri, Aulbath, Lei-Lei.
[*]Low- Jedah, Lillith, Morrigan, Victor, Anakaris.

Still don’t agree that Bulleta is top, same with Gallon.
Then you haven’t played the game enough or you play Gallon.
Most recent match up chart pay attention to the values not where the character is located (Lilith and Demitri are tied).
That tier list(on mizuumi) is grouping them together being listed first doesn’t mean they’re stronger.
I really feel like the top are Sas,Zab, and B.
But I DO need to play more.
Tiers are not too big of a deal in this game unless you use victor and of course anak
people will always flock to ‘ryu’ of the game. morrigan will be very popular also, partly due to her success in mvc3.
over time tho, i feel that bbhood, qbee and felicia will become the most used characters.
bbhood because of sako, and she is a nightmare to fight if ur not good at push blocking. qbee for high/low mixups plus being hard as fuck to meaty. felicia cause of overall very solid normals, fast jump and high/low mixup.
who is omgwtflol? only person on the client i haven’t beaten once ever.
She owns my soul. I’ve gone 0-55 against her twice now.
