DARKSTALKERS RESURRECTION coming to XBLA and PSN

VSav weeklies up if you want to come watch or even join:

Plenty of open slots left!

Out getting more life drawing supplies then I’m gonna stream monster it up!

I skipped through the thread, reading most of it, but I’m not sure I got some facts straight.
We’re getting Vampire Savior, as close to the arcade as possible, without anything added, no VS2 chars or EX versions, right ?
Anyway I can’t wait for February.

EDIT :::
found out that no other chars will be included, it’s Vsav and that’s all, which is good to me.
The only one I’d miss would be Phobos anyway.
However, for the others wondering, Orochi Bishamon, and Dark Talbain or whatever were their names will be in.

The only thing that looks wrong so far is the promo art, which is no big deal as this time we can enjoy our original unsoiled select screen.

After reading some classic “chains are for newbs” posts, I wonder now how many retards are gonna diss the game just because it has chains that aren’t sued for overly long combos?

Casuals seem to be in love with it though.

Really? I’ve heard only negative responses to the new art. I’ve heard complaints about chins, characters looking too weak, and off-model faces. Oh well it doesn’t really matter since the game itself uses the original art optional filters.

Still, Artgem’s worklooks much like thisto me

Well, I’m just glad you can switch back to the regular art, I can understand, if not approve the money spent on new promo art, but I really don’t get the idea of forcing it on the select screen.

Is this a way to say “hey we didn’t spend that money on new art for nothing, look, we use it on the select screen !”

Maybe they feel the need to “update” the art to go with the whole Resurrection motif (“Look, we’re doing something new with it!”) and need to outsource because it’s not a project on the scale of a new game (which is a bad way to view your revivals)? Or they’re promoting him because of how he’s indirectly brought attention to the series?

Whatever the case, it looks hideous.

Here’s to hoping that the online default game speed isn’t set for you… Free select, FTW.

It’s going to be set to turbo 3. Free select is for women.

Ranked needs to be set to standard tournament settings, which means Turbo 3. Save free select for non-ranked/casual sets.

Is there still no specific release date for this? I can’t seem to find it.

Early 2013

February 2nd, 2013 for Japan. Probably a couple weeks later in the states.

Japan is getting it February 7, so probably a week or so later? Or within that week; who knows.

Come watch, join, or watch AND join this week’s GGPO Vambats!

DCC is right around the corner (this week), so why not get hyped up with some homegrown Vampire?

A bit of gameplay from Capcom’s Japanese channel. Starts at 19mins. Still being worked on and not everything is in this build but lets you see what they are going for.

From Dave Lang, the head of Iron Galaxy studios:

“The rest” refers to this list of requests:
http://www.capcom-unity.com/darkstalkers/go/thread/view/8066/29501491/vsr-competitive-scenes-interest&pg=last&526201681

Does everyone actually agree with everything in that list?

No, it’s more a collection of individual suggestions that haven’t been deliberated over by players. I guess the idea is for Iron Galaxy to choose what features they want to include.

I’d also like to see what Japanese players want or think of this list.

Front page shitstorm incoming due to the mention of “E-sports”.
