Talbain’s is kinda different from Morrigan and Lilith’s Dark Force. Talbain gets more pushblock and chip damage by far, and the Nunchakus get a lot more hits than normal in his Dark Force.
As far as i know Bish’s DF is superarmor. But then agian i need to see if the DF1 and DF2 are different then DF3 (using A3 VC1 VC2 VC3 for DF’s).
Hey, what’s up again m1x4h! :wgrin:
About the Dark Forces: Victor’s is completely different from the other characters, Demitri’s too, and BB Hood’s as well. Sure there are some general types of Dark Forces (DF) shared between different characters, but even the shared DF’s have some subtle differences between them. So yeah, I know what you’re saying but the several different types of DF’s really adds something unique to this game. I’m glad that the DF’s weren’t a use of super meter like the “custom combos” in SFA2 or SFA3. I like those SF’s but I wouldn’t want to see the CC’s in a different Capcom Fighting series, especially Darkstalkers. Then again, it’d have been a bit silly to have CC’s in DS anyway because of the already present chain combo system, and all of the possibilities already available within that system.
That brings up an interesting debate though. Do most people prefer when the special systems like CC’s and DF’s found in todays fighters is exactly the same for each character or different? When they are different the plus side is that the fighting experiences are more unique between the individual characters, but the down side is that it usually leads to unbalance in the game. When the system is the same for all of the characters it may increase the balance factor, but takes away the unique differences between the characters that could make each character more unique and different from each other; which could improve the excitement and variety in a match. Most people would be split about which to choose, and thus the debate continues!
BTW, what is VS2? Is it the same as Vampire Savior for the Sega Saturn with Donovan, Pyron, Huitzil, and Dark Bishamon?
victor. bb, zabel, anakaris, and lei lei I would put into a group of their own. where their primary normal moveset changes completely. nuff said.
gallon, morrigan, and lilith have sillouettes(sp) follow them in some manner.
demitri, felicia, phobos, donovan, pyron, all have a “helper” of some sort which allows for extended combos.
the other characters have super armor, flight, or the ability to chain while dashing(jedah/sasquatch)
I thought I’d written all this down somewhere. ima halfto go search for it later.
dark forces got really gay’d out in VS2… thats all you need to know.
No love for Talbain/Gallon but in the right hands he’s pretty tough. I’ve got some VS combo vids if anyone wants them, catch me on AIM or something.
What’s up?!? Where are they? I have an email account with aim.com. Is that the same site you’re talking about? As for Talbain… he’s a beast int he right hands. But I don’t think anyone who’s ever played against a real solid Talbain would underestimate him— he could be very tough.
BTW, NOBODY answered my VS2 question yet!:arazz: :annoy:
Is it the same as VS for the Saturn?
No the Saturn VS is not VS2. They just added the characters for the home port.
is there any way you can put them up on a rapidshare or a yousendit so all of us can see the combo vids.
All so if any one wants to host some vids on a torrent i would gladly seed them for a week or two after i have completed the DL.
Gbursine : Do know of any advanced buffer techniques for Lei-Lei to hide her heaven spikes. When me and Sabre play he can hit it about 80%. But im sure he would like to be able to do it off of the cr.mk with alot more consistancy.
Why didn’t I think of that? Let me throw them up on a video hosting site, I’ll post the link in a few …
vs2 is vampire savior 2
they took out some people (i forget who), and replaced them with pyron, phoboes, and donovan…

LOL, thanks a lot for the VS2 info guys. I had to look it up myself, but here’s some links to the reviews. So my guess was right… VS2 is the same as the Sega Saturn VS. Whew! I thought I was in the twilight zone for a minute and missed a completely new Darkstalkers game. That was weird. :looney:
I would also love to see a large batch of some Vampre Hunter vids as well.
VS2 was a slight tweak to VS. Basically the same except for a roster switch (Gallon, Sasquatch, and Aulbath get dumped for Donovan, Phobos, and Pyron), and some general system changes.
The main change is that the DF system is changed. A DF now requires two super stocks, and has the same effect for every character… it is a generic temporary “power-up” in which offense and defense are increased. In addition, some EX moves become upgraded if performed during the DF. Most of the characters kept their VS1 DFs, in the form of new EX moves.
Air chains don’t work the same, either. I might be wrong, but I think that you can only chain from air dashes, so trying to do air chains from a regular jump won’t work.
There was also Vampire Hunter 2… it is, system-wise, identical to VS2 as far as I know. The only difference is the roster (it has the same characters as the original VH… no Jedah, Q-Bee, Bulleta, or Lilith). I suppose the reason VS2 and VH2 were released as separate games is because the CPS2 board wouldn’t have been capable of handling all of the characters in one game.
Alright, I’m new at uploading videos. I tried youtube and it just hung for a long time. Putfile has a 25MB limit and these are 45MB and 52MB respectively.
Suggestions?
try rapidshare
Looks like Rapidshare will work but I’m headed home from work, I’ll upload them this evening.
going down the list(b/c i feel quite bleh >.<)
c.bob: I can’t really think of any shortcuts. my innovation comes in spurts. c.mkXXsuper is hella smart when the c.mk doesn’t connect. i think i’ve always had the habit to finish w/ c.hpXXs.rk. -_-
the SS VS is not the same as VS2. the ss VS is suppose to be vampire 1, with vs2 options as a hidden select
I was toying a bit w/ vs2 airchains. and I think that the engin allows for only two normals to chain… and it must be from light->anything else… this is from what I just tried w/ leilei and zabel(qbee doesnt need chaining during her dash, jedah doesnt either, phobos i just forgot about till now ^_^).
also, I forgot in the vs2 df mode, ES and EX’s get beefed a bit, and have alternate/better forms.
seems like there’s a “counter hit” system in the game(when you do an air to air counter hit, there’s a white flash and the opponent is downed, even if you countered with a jump lp).
except for that, it’s as shitty as VS2 indeed.
I just tried it out a bit myself, and you seem to be right. I was able to get Felicia’s j.LK to chain into her j.MK rather easily, both in jumps and from dashes, but couldn’t chain her j.MK into anything… except when I had DF activated. When that was active, I was able to chain her j.MK into j.HK. So it would seem that whatever precisely the restrictions are that were placed on air chaining in VS2, they are temporarily removed while the DF is in effect.
Hmmm… sounds as though character selection is better for VS for SegaSaturn than VS2. What system is VS2 or VH2 for? The DF’s being all the same sounds as though it may have been an attempt to balance the game more… but is it more fun, or more balanced? Any vids on VS2? Now that would be a surprise!
Actually, it sounds as though SS version of VS was better than the sequals and the other system conversions— No?
until vampire collections came out, SS VS was considered the most accurate(but not arcade perfect) version of vampire savior… it even had extra animations put into the already pretty backgrounds.
VS2 and VH2 were never released outside of the arcades until V-collections came out. they might be more balanced, but because of the way the engine was tweaked, I believe matches are a bit slower paced. that, in conjunction with the time which it was released made japs say, “eff it, we’re playing VS”.
