The PC ports of the Souls games - minus the original which they deeply apologized for - have been fantastic. If you have a capable PC I heavily recommend the PC version, they usually look slightly nicer than their console counterparts and the online portion tends to have better connections but slightly smaller player bases.
I normally start out DEX but over time I’ve come to like quality and the smaller weapon count they’ve said DkS3 will have is even more reason to build that way, so I can try most of the weapons out.
I’m actually planning on running through the original once more before heading over to 3, waiting until my new rig comes so I can keep the save files without having to transfer.
And 2 I’ll pass on, AFAIK I think 2 was lightheartedly booted out of the Souls canon, so 3 is the true sequel in my eyes.
I have being using the Estoc before you were even playing souls games son. Ive been using the estoc since demons souls. And magic has always been easy mode.
No actually I don’t think 2’s lore was booted out from what I’ve seen of 3. Up to you to play it though of course. I think it’s worth paying and does have it’s good points, especially the DLC areas, but it is also definitely the weakest in the series
I never liked magic much in souls, though with some of the changes they made to all magic we’ve seen, I’m more interested now. I just hope buffs are actually balanced for once
I think it’s two things that made me heavily dislike the game so much. Too many homages to the first souls game, it didn’t expand upon the story or the gameplay - it simply recycled the older content in a mediocre fashion. And the animation speed and general pacing of everything put me off, the game felt slow and tedious. The boss designs were all very…stale, lots of big tall humanoid looking dudes and only a couple monstrosities that really stood out.
Dark Souls will forever remain the game that made me appreciate game design and the formula it used.
2 felt meh in comparison, it had too much to live up too.
3? After experiencing DS2, I doubt 3 will disappoint me, much like Bloodborne didn’t - the only issue was that there just wasn’t enough of it for me!
Oh, and soul memory/PvP as a whole can seriously suck a dick.
well they got input from other people who like souls games, and people who like pvp. People dont like poise, cause it leads to people doing nothing but backstabs. And people dont like pvp in blood borne, people dont like Soul memory. Fromsoft likes hearing from their fans.
also looking from the sells, people like fast paced gameplay more, man DS1 still out sells DS2
