Yeah, I faced them for the first time last night. Also, it’s crazy just how fast you can progress through areas in this game. Undead Settlement was the only place that took a long time and that’s because I aimed to kill everything in sight.
Anyone know if the giant Pontiff Knights with the flaming staffs have drops? I want their chest peice and helmet but dont want to farm them if they dont.
I messed up EVERY single npc quest line in the game. How is that even possible. Well it’s my first final I’ll use a guide for ng+. But goddamn how’d I mess up so bad.
I got everything there that I could. Armor sets, the pyromancer, killed that flaming stray demon type boss. Two factors resulted in me dying there. Killing everything in sight and searching all over that place for everything. The only place I neglected was that swap area where you gotta put out the 3 flames.
Get used to dying. Explore thoroughly. Buy the White Sign Soap Stone from the shop in the beginning area and co-op a good deal, it’s a safe way to net souls (exp) and don’t be afraid to use the Ember items, they let you summon co-opers, and are pretty plentiful in this game.
When it comes to combat be passive. Trying to run up on an enemy and attacking will get you wrecked most of the time. Let them attack first and block/roll past it. Study their attack patterns while your on the defensive. It’ll come in handy when you have to fight the stronger variants.
Fuck Yhorm The Giant. I can’t even damage him wih three people wailing on him. The Storm Ruler doesn’t even do any damage either. Am I missing something here? Am I just not strong enough yet? I’m level 50.
Tbh I wouldn’t say be passive in this game, maybe for the standard humanoid weapon user type things, but there seem to be a fair few enemies that just start up seemingly never ending pressure into shield break into you’re dead if you don’t stunlock them before they can move into this game after the first couple of levels.
I don’t see how exiting the game is “playing to win”.
Although it comes down to preference, I recommend no co-op on your first run through the game if want the full challenge of the game. The fun of these games comes from the challenge and making accomplishments by yourself.
I would’ve have agreed with this before but, honestly even doing a full co-op run is a lot of fun and provides a very interesting, different yes, but still interesting and unique experience.
I actually feel the ideal way to play it is to sometimes co-op, sometimes, not, sometimes, invade, sometimes not, basically to just experiences pieces of all of it
First PVP session with the Str/Int build. I decided to run Aldrich Faithful since I believe their reward is another Sorcery. The build isn’t done yet, still have about 35 levels to go (assuming the meta is going to be 125) and I’m realizing I need more Endurance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=La082nf-Y7U
Like I said it depends on your preference of play. I like soloing everything on my first play through so I say… I DID IT! /jump for joy
Pontiff Sulyvahn:
Spoiler
Maaaaan this boss was hell with a slow ass weapon (been using the hammer from Voldt). I could have used a faster weapon, but I was fucking stubborn. Died several times probably due to my stubbornness, but next time I fight him, I’ll go for a faster weapon and parry strategy.
