I thought about it, but I couldn’t justify the purchase. Especially considering I bought a copy for Xbone in additioj to my PS4 copy. I will probably get the collectors edition guide though. Are you getting the collectors edition?
i disagree, i played Ninja Gaiden and Bayoneta a ton before i got into the souls series and the learning curve was still quite jarring. knowing how to dodge dod’t really do much for you when your main problem was “how do i kill this thing?”
also this game doesn’t compare to any old school game. maybe if you had infinite lives, a way to skip 90% of the levels when you died, and the ability to gradually get strong and stronger without limit.
They really shower you with upgrade materials this time around. On my last playthrough I finished with like 80 titanite shards, 65 large shards, 35 chunks, 35 twinkling, 40 demon, and 3 slabs. A far cry from BB where you had to really plan where you were going to use your chunks and slabs. Although, I think I like it better this way
Yup ! I ordered it not too long ago. They vanished real quick i’ll tell u that.
I wasn’t going to get it , but i watched a unboxing video and i noticed that it (apart from the statue) came with a huge artbook with art from all the dark souls games.
I like steelbooks too so that’s a given. What really sealed the deal for me though… was these :
Huh, almost every enemy in ds1 was pretty straight forward. Just dodge, hit a few times, back off, dodge more, hit.
You couldnt have been good at ninja gaiden or bayonetta. Or played them at a high level. You cant just mash attack in that game and profit. Even ninja gaiden 2 on normal will still murk you for just mashing on bosses and certain enemies like a retard. Not to mention, those games also teach you that sometimes you dont need to mash through every enemy to proceed. Hell thats an 80s classic in video games. I imagine many people complaining about ds1 early on were trying to kill all the dragons in the valley of drakes just cause, dying, and thinking this game is impossible.
First thing i did in ds1 was ignore most enemies, and just run around and get shit. When i realized i could get shit, die, and keep my shit, just lose souls and humanity unless i picked up my “dead spot”, i was like, oh this is so casual. lol
I think it’s a good change. Especially considering that re spec is back, so now people can re spec and still have enough material to upgrade whichever new weapon they want to use
geez well fuck you too buddy. you must be blind if you think fighting enemies in a hack n slash is anything like a souls game. that acclimation is what i had trouble with you asshole i didn’t say it was difficult.
neither of those games had a stamina system or enemies that could actually defend which lead to you figuring out how to get around their guard while not opening yourself up to their buddies. in addition to that you were usually put in narrow areas that made strafing pretty difficult so walking around to their back wasn’t quite so simple all the time.
