I finished my first run of DS1 with 33 Vit and 30 End. For a Paladin build 40 End is a waste of points unless hes tanking out like Paladin Leeroy or something. Vit is more dependant on how often you get hit, but still I think 45 is over doing it, especially on a Faith build, all those extra points could be going into the Fth stat to get access to spells that can cover the health deficency. All kinds of healing spells, and one that regens health as well.
Whats the highest a stat should get to be beneficial. I know for attacking stats 50 is the highest. Anything after 40 doesnt really add damage but 50 let’s you use any weapon.
There aren’t many weapons that require that though. Unless you are going for something specific I think 40 is fine.
A good amount of great swords require 50 str.
Which ones? I haven’t played the game in a long time so there might be more than I remember but I thought the majority of the weapons can be used with stats well below 50.
Maybe UGS, but not GS. GS requirements are almost never that high
Lol how do you remember exactly how much Vit and End you had on your first ever run? That’s impressive…
50 STR won’t allow you to use every weapon in the game, considering Smough’s Greathammer requires 56 strength. But unless you’re trying to use specific weapons like that, 50 STR isn’t a necessity.
There’s only a select few other weapons that require 50 STR. The Dragon Greatsword and Greataxe, and the Grant. I think I might be forgetting one but that’s about it.
After that, the closest anything comes to needing 50 STR is the Stone Greatsword, but that only needs 40.
Demons Greathammer? The one that drops from the first boss and I think you can get it from the crow in exchange for something.
Demon Hammer only needs 46 STR, but yes it comes close.
It’s all subjective but none of the weapons that require that much strength are good IMO.
i think all the “overkill” STR weapons are great for PVE while sucking aaaaaaaasssssssssssssssssss for PVP.
They’re too slow for my tastes. Especially when I can use weapons that swing much faster when the only tradeoff is that I’m losing maybe 100 points or so of damage.
Heh cuz that build never got touched again after I beat the game, its still saved on the PS3 and I load that character up from time to time to see what i can do with it, then decide its too.scatterbrained as a build to do anything with and switch to another build lol.
What does each attribute do/affect? Don’t wanna play DS3 and make a caster build with nothing but STR/DEX

I miss the wtf button so damn much right now.

Tbh you’ll probably not play long enough to invest in any stat significantly enough for the scaling to matter, so just go with whatever.
Should have learned my lesson the first time I tried to ask a question here and just googled the info
Stay butthurt, son.

If your making a Mag build then you put points in one of the Magic Stats, Faith (Fth) or Intelligence (Int). After that it just depends on how you want to Melee fight, like if you want to make a big burly no sellin Paladin then you do pay attention to Strength (Str) and Faith. If you want a nimble squishy wizard who dodges around their opponent then you would do Skill (Skl) and Dexterity (Dex). If you make a build of just Str and Dex then it wont be able to cast spells at all and would be called a quality build Quality builds have the largest range of weapon selections in the game, but are a jack of all trades master of none. They can fill just about any role, but they wont be the best at it, usually.
It’s really pretty straight forward and next to impossible to make a broken build so just do whatever you like generally, there don’t tend to be any useless stats anymore like Resistance.
I generally go with a quality build my first time through a Souls game, it’s the safest bet til you start learning what all the op shit is.
