Dark Souls 3: Prepare to Die Once More

Yeah I saw someone say that it’s useless and just the same old Halberd spacing, and then I never listened to them again.

Are you sure that full thing is a combo after the R2 though? Cause that is insane.

Man, Midir really exposes niggas. Amazing for farming Sunlight Medals if you can find hosts competent enough to stay alive. Meaning, “stand in the corner and never draw aggro because your melee spec somehow can’t deal more than 200 damage when hitting him in the head, so you’re worse than useless”.

So roughly how long will the DLC take me as someone who likes to explore every nook and cranny?

Lobro took 8 hours but pretty sure he was on ng+7

I could definitely see it taking that long though depending on how much difficulty you have with some bosses

It’s been inconsistent, but in testing it’s been a 100% guaranteed stunlock combo. Seems dependent upon connection like the Millwood Axe is

RPKGS’s can only go L1 > L1 > WA

I told myself I put this in the backburner but I ended up playing it since my friends want to co-op it. I finished Lapp questline

Spoiler

The asshole turned out to be a amnesiac Patches. The armor set you get for completing it is pretty good but I feel dirty knowing I helped that asshole.

I made a build for the Crucifix of the Mad King. It’s weapon art is probably the most fun one in the game, my build has it at a 709AR, that’s absolutely nuts for a Halberd class.

EDIT**
Optimised it, now I’m on 861AR. Lol, this thing is nuts.

Finished the DLC. Man, that spear boss was up there with the Dragon God and Bed of Chaos as one of the worst fights in the series, and the final boss was really anticlimactic. Even the “secret” optional boss was pretty lame, both from a design point and gameplay point. All in all, it started off strong and then petered out. I guess nothing will ever beat DS1 in terms of content, both the base game and the DLC, because Artorias was fucking awesome. I guess the DLC for this game was… so-so. It wasn’t bad, but it just felt needless and like it didn’t add anything. In DS1 the DLC has some of the most important story content in the series. In DS2, as disappointing as that game was in so many ways, the DLC actually helped that game tell a coherent story and some parts of it were the best parts of that entire game. Then again, some of it was also among the worst parts of that game. In DS3, it just sort of exists. Which is a shame, since the concept of an amalgamated city at the end of the world where everything’s squished together had such potential and it was kind of wasted. As was Ariandel rotting, because it just led to flies and generic slime instead of cool shit based around the concept of a fading painting. Environments bleeding away, color saturation ending up wrong, that sort of thing was what I expected.

The spear boss was so shitty. It just stood there and let me kill it.

Did you play offline?

I wasn’t. A friend of mine was suppose to help me with it because he told me players get summoned for as minions or the boss himself. He got invaded in his game so I went ahead. I was greeted with one NPC and a boss that didn’t do anything. Killed him before any player got a chance to be summoned.

He must’ve been AFK. The Spear IS the enemy player

To be fair, it’s a shit boss anyway. It’s just a forced PVP duel. Lazy as fuck. Not to mention that it fucks anyone who is specced for PVE (like, say, someone with a strength build that’ll never hit a human player). Invasions I’ve gotten over with time, but I fucking hate Souls multiplayer. Back in the PS3 days I would pull the cable so I could just play the fucking game by myself like I wanted. And hiding actual progression behind multiplayer content is just the fucking worst. It sucked in DS2 and it sucks now.

Smh to this whole post. You don’t even have to fight the boss online if you can’t git gud.

Anyway, some new lore speculation.

The DLC is rocking my butthole and I love it. Also this happened to me…

Strength builds are currently the meta build right now, so I assume you have no idea what you’re saying.

@Kecka I am by no means amazing at this game but pure STR builds do really well in PvP dude. And I’m talking like Great Hammer class and UGS class. Granted, the top tier STR weapons are Great Swords, but then the larger weapons counter them, so you see them plenty

Strength builds sucked for PVP back when the game came out, but they’ve revised the poise system since then (and you can get the best poise ring somewhere in the latest DLC). Playing as a squishy mage build sucks right now because literally everyone’s rocking the decimate-your-life-bar-in-two-and-a-half-hits bigass weapons.

Hybrid mages are really, really good right now though with the addition of many mage based weapons and close combat spells. Plus mages are still amazing in team battles of course

Honestly I think PvP is in a relatively great state right now. Early on quality builds were king which killed variety but now pure STR is on top with quality next, and pure DEX just got a buff in the most recent patch, and hybrid mages/spellswords have a bunch of options, and even pure mages got new close combat options. Mages are still definitely on the weaker side in some ways, but they aren’t that bad after various speed buffs.

Also, this happened to me as a SOTC summon today. Mild Ringed City spoilers.
