Dark Souls 3: Prepare to Die Once More

The banner weapon weapon skill you see in the trailer shares the same emblem as the Winged Knights of Lothric. Angels confirmed?

Some questions I hope to see answered in The Ringed City DLC:

  • What about the connection between the Lothric bloodline and angels? Will we finally learn more about that?
  • Who is Painting Loli? What’s her connection to Londor, the painted world, and the dark soul of man? Why does she look part dragon?
  • Velka???

You do realise you aren’t forced into new game + after beating the last boss in DS3 right?

You can choose to just stay in your current game until you feel like moving on.

I think he just wants to save the final boss til it’s the actual final boss

Oh, I didn’t know you weren’t forced into new game+ I figured it would be like DS1 and Bloodborne. In any case, like Gasa was saying, I kind of want him to be the actual final boss anyway along with the Nameless King. For me, lore-wise, those fights feel the most significant.

Oh and the Bloodborne artbook is coming to the US. It’s up for pre order on amazon. I know this is the DS thread, but I figured most of you probably played Bloodborne too.

Here’s someone flipping through it:

anyone playing Nioh atm? If so, how hard is it compared to DS3?

Very. Compared to any Souls game, really.

Though, like Souls, a lot of things can be overcome first try with patience and pragmatic exploration.

While the game is super Souls inspired in general, the combat is way different, and because of that it’s fairly difficult and lethal, but yeah, if you have patience to learn the system and keep the same battle flow of Souls of picking your moments with the addition of actually being able to be pretty fucking aggro when you get a hang of the system you’ll be gold

Anybody doing this?

Redownloading SoTFS right now. Thinking about doing a Nioh-inspired build in celebration of how awesome that game ended up being. Should be pretty dope.

Of all the games to go and re-run why on earth would I pick the worst one of the series?

Fuck soul memory
Fuck hugging bosses left ass cheeks
Fuck going up a wooden lift to get to a lava level
Fuck having to invest in a stat to make my roll not shit

If you don’t like Dark Souls II, here’s a pro-tip:

Don’t fucking play it

Trust me, as long as Dark Souls 1 and 3 still exist, I don’t need to be told not to play 2. :coffee:

Naw, you just gotta be told how dumb you look trying to shit on a community-inspired event that is merely trying to pump life back into one of the less popular games of the series.

Btw, this has me curious, but do you guys actually think Scholar of The First Sin is a bad game?

Sure, I get calling it the worst Souls game. I think that’s objectively fair.

But to say it’s flat out a bad game? Naw, I can’t co sign that.

lol @ community event for ds2

Are you going to blame others for not sharing your excitement?
Most of us have got better shit to do with our time than to go leave a message near the Majula bonfire saying “don’t give up, skeleton!”

People are bored as fuck, i swear.

All I did was share a little event that a large portion of the Souls community was taking part of. Someone took it as an opportunity to shit on Dark Souls 2 for the millionth time. shrug Not my fault people take every opportunity to shit out vitriol.

It’s a video game. People play video games when they’re bored as entertainment. It’s kinda been a thing for over 3 decades now. Not sure if you knew.

@“The Martian” I love dark souls 2 but it is the only game in the series that legitimately makes me want to snap the disk. It’s either too easy or to difficult, and the controls feel buggy. Apart from that it would be a great game. All the problems i have with the game could be fixed with an update or DLC. Kinda like how A Realm Reborn made FFXIV go from the worst to the best -in my opinion- MMORPG. We should have a Dark souls 2: A Realm Reborn.

Have you played Scholar of The First Sin? Because it basically encapsulates everything you just said you wanted out of DSII. The DLC additions to the game are easily some of the best segments. The large amount of small changes also does wonders in making it a better game overall. Most people will find that a lot the things they complained about in the Vanilla version are still there (Soul Memory, too many humanoid bosses, ect), but if you enjoyed Vanilla DSII then you’ll definitely enjoy SOTFS.

Dark Souls II was an interesting entry in Souls, largely because of how different it is now compared to what it was when first released. If you haven’t played since PS360 Dark Souls II, Scholar will be almost unrecognizable.

SOTFS Came out at the wrong time Bloodborne was out and why the fuck would you play it over Bloodborne, I tried too though It was cool, the game feel was missing something everything from the setting to the way it animated, the physics, the camera, the soundtrack, the characters, none of it has that ever so subtle flair and intrigue that the souls games possess. It was GOOD though.

I never played SOTFS, but think it is a bit late now. I’m just hoping fromsoftware will pull a Marvel vs Capcom and give us a demons souls 2. Never played that game but I’ve heard nothing but good things about it.
