Finished Dark souls 3! It was a great experience. I am going to do some of the side requirements here and there and probably go finish Bloodborne next. I thought nameless king was the hardest boss by far. The final boss only gave me trouble with his silly hitbox on his powered up fire sword, but overall he wasn’t too bad. I probably died 100 times trying to beat nameless king though, not going to front.
I don’t really think that’s right. Dark Souls II’s combat, rolling and ect. felt a little faster than some of the other games. People just fail to put any points into ADP/Attunement and then wonder why they’re drinking their flasks so slow, or casting spells slowly or always getting hit out of their rolls. The gameplay gets a lot faster and more responsive once you start dumping points into that stat.
I think Dark Souls 1 probably plays the “slowest”. You can feel the heft in almost every weapon, and rolling and running felt very different in general. Everything just felt…heavier, I guess. Maybe that’s just me, though.
Bloodborne is the fastest imo, while Dark Souls 1 feels the slowest.
It’s just that the rolling in DkS2 felt weird, all rolls felt like fat rolls, regardless of your points in adp/atn. That to me was one of the biggest flaws of the game, the movement just wasn’t crisp like it was in DkS/DkS3
Rolling, movement, and animations in general probably looked weird to a lot of people because iirc, Dark Souls II was the only game that used mocap animations. Combine that with the weird looking environments that were all over Drangelic, it kind of just made your character feel out of place in the game’s world. So yeah, I understand that observation.
I still think it was one of the more twitchy, reactionary and fast paced Souls games. It had the fastest pace right after Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3, imo.
Even if you put points into ADP for faster rolling, it still has slow combat and slow character movement. And dark souls still has faster rolls, ninja flip is like a 1 frame roll.
They do look and feel weird compared to the other games. I just disagree that the general pace of the game is slower. You had niggas constantly rolling out of shit because poise was a hollow shell of itself, moving around more and blocking a LOT less than in the past two games. My experiences in both PvP and PvE were always a lot faster paced than the ones I had in the first two games. Maybe it was different for others .
After years of playing demons souls and dark souls 1, the gameplay still feels slow to me, even with ADP. Guess ill never get used to ds2 slow gameplay.
If I go past Soul level 120, I can still be summoned to other games as a Sunbro? I’m don’t care too much about pvp, I wanted to make a ridiculous PVE build.
I was curious if I was too high of a level over the person summoning me into the game they wouldn’t be able to see my summon sign. I was wondering if there is a level range for summoning into your game.
