Level 4 Hyper - Dark Angel. With three different levels of X-Factor. Pretty much an instant KO on anyone at any level of X-Factor. Not a surprise though.

Dante = all the foreplay, sex toys, positions one could ask for.
Virgil = FUCK the foreplay, straight to the sex, lay down bitch, get a 3 minute nut, PEACE!!!

Gawd, why does Dark Angel have to be so sick? I severely doubt I’d ever sit on 4 meters in game with Vergil but the idea of being able to off anyone with it is SOOO tempting…
True, but I’m only going to use it as a showboat finisher since the using the 4 bars in other methods are so worth it. Unless we discovery some sick combo that break the current meter building system and gives him 2+ bars ala Dante. I doubt it though.
I dunno. Just sounds like fair, more meter hungry DHC glitch to me. I don’t really get the hype in it. It looks nice but I’d rather just reset the shit out of people in DT where he gets a bunch of crazy buffs any way. If you need to kill like one last guy and don’t have XF…I would like it but other than that I don’t see it getting much use considering all of his other meter based options have much more creative and long term use.

heard Filipino Champ yesterday saying that Vergil is the best character in the game (according to japanese players who already played the game thoroughly , reported by Tokido at CC).

Yeah there’s already like one video article and one written article from Freida and Tokido about how they feel Vergil, Strider and Strange will be the best of the new characters. I think going ahead and placing Vergil as number 1 is a bit crazy considering characters like Dante, Zero or Viper more or less got better overall even with their nerfs simply because the buffs Dante and Zero got were pretty reasonable and anyone that gave them problems got nerfed.
Justin Wong went and yelled about Wolverine being number 1…and then of course we all found out that he clearly wasn’t number 1 (though clearly top tier). He started to too quickly become counter picked by lame out high tier point character plus Haggar or Tron assist.
TBH, I take the input for “Japanese” Top MVC3 players with a grain of salt. No offense to Freida and Tokido but if this was SFIV then their input would hold much more weight than it does in Marvel.
I’m taking everyone’s stuff with a grain of salt. The thing about MvC3 is that nobody really knows except Father Time. I’ve talked to some people who are like piss scared hearing about what P Wright can do and feel he’ll be the next Phoenix. I don’t think anything will be as bad as Vanilla Phoenix but…you just don’t know till it happens.
I played a majority of Vergi last night at Ultimate NorCal.
Vergil is EXTREMELY unsafe, probably one of the most unsafe characters I’ve played in Marvel. While Dante has bold cancel and a million specials to cancel into that are + frames, Vergil has neither. All his normals, while they had great hitboxes, seemed punishable on block. Everyone got away with just canceling into teleport, but as we all know like Wesker unless you have an assist out this is very punishable. This leaves canceling into specials. The problem is judgment cut has startup (not a true blockstring), charged round trip has startup, rapid slash is punishable and shoryu is obviously punishable (and so is the teleport followup). Basically, if you either don’t have 1 bar (to cancel into DT or swords) or are already in DT (for the speed up) you’re screwed.
I feel like when this game starts getting figured out Vergil will drop down lower than chars like Strider who can cover their solo approaches unless people find some hidden stuff.
Overall he feels like an easier Dante with less options. He’s really good with bar however, I dunno about “best new char”.
Re: JPN players
Tokido is very smart in any fighting game, he knows how to exploit what is good/broken. In vanilla he constructed a theoretically busted team based on simple principles; Wolverine (immediate XF, stupid rushdown), Sent (gdlk assist) and Phoenix (most broken char). Frieda is really good at Marvel, he exploits what’s good as well, I’ve seen him do a meter positive DHC glitch using hard tag after Zero hard knockdown buster, Dante OTG into 1 hit million dollars xx Sougenmu then unbreakable TAC with Zero back into non-DT Dante to build back gauge. That combo alone is exploiting multiple broken things in the engine so he definitely knows MvC3 well.
