A lot of people complain about backwards shoryukens for some reason. Which is stupid considering if you jump on the other side of the screen…the backwards shoryuken becomes a regular shoryuken…

He is looking pretty wolvie derpy like right now. He might not be as bad as him but he will be pretty close.

What is the fascination of playing a character on anchor for “saved up meter” …its only 5 bars and Vergil does a pretty good job building meter as is.

Seeing as he’s a meter hog to begin with it makes no sense playing him as anchor if your logic behind it is to use up a whopping 5 bars.

Think.

These players should play some kof games R.E.D kick ftw. Any ways anchor is a tricky spot because you want some one who gives you that come back factor like mags, whesker and phoenix once they go x-factor 3 and have good solo mix ups and strings or characters that abuse meter like akuma with x-factor lv3 virg looks like a good anchor because his got strong solo options but I feel he’ll be weak to characters with more air mobility. I like him in that 2nd slot because I plan on putting him to work not just having him clean up. Doom can clean up now :slight_smile: possibly with more derp than mags.

Why would that be any worse than using a lockdown assist for 50/50 mixup while remaining on the ground…

Vergils trick down is supposed to be disorienting, but that doesnt make it broken.

How? Because they have two slightly similar looking moves?

Lol seriously. Even though combos MIGHT (we dont even really know yet) not kill in 1 touch… the bullshit marvel 3 mixups where the user just does something and personally doesn’t even know if it will hit high/low/left/right still exist… all you know is it will be impossible to block so just do it.

I dont even think they should be called mixups. They should just be called derpups.

Dacid at the Norcal vs Capcom 3 tourney or whatever it was called did the ol airthrow -> otg x factor into easymode combo kill 1 character. Then braindead teleport+assist derpup on incoming charcter (hit lands) dead character #2 that wolvie is known for. Vergil looked like he packs a meaner punch than most in level 1 xfc.

Vergil’s zerker slash + assist will be amazingly effective in Ultimate too (A lot of Vergil footage I have seen has Vergil canceling into Devil Trigger out of the slash just like wolvie would cover his with zerker charge)

Sword super + tracking teleport teleport gives him probably the most lethal braindead mixups in the game

They gave him what seem as seemingly faster derpy dante normals

Seth Killian mentioned that Vergil is like wolverine and wesker combined with Dante similar normals too

All the top tier has that same bullshit setup.

Does anyone besides me feel like Vergil can be a better zoner than a rushdown character? Dont get me wrong I DO see his rushdown tools, and Derp ability but I think with the right assists Judgement cuts and the range of his normals could make him a very good zoner.

what he said, a lot of players have trouble doing SRK motions on the right side of the screen or the left for some reason, lots of new players are lazy and/or won’t take the time to learn “forward down forward/backward down backward” in quick succession. so SRK motions are often considered an execution barrier.

Well considering I’ve met supposed top players in tournament that can only play on one side of the screen…I guess that’s not the most preposterous thing ever. Fighting games kinda force you to be a bit ambidextrous.

I’m a pad player, back in the MvC2 days i could only use Dr. Doom on the right side the screen, for some reason i couldn’t do half circle backwards motions on the left side, so i would always try to super jump with him and land on the right side, didn’t even bother trying to pick up zangief -_-

Fighting games do kind of force you to adapt, the old school ones anyways, but with all these new fighting games coming out what with now you can map your buttons and one button dash and all that shit, players can find more then one way to get around certain barriers, well it would take less effort to get around them anyways.

Nah its just you. Long rang normals arent as good for spacing in this game as you think. All he has is judgement cuts, and being a Dormammu-ish player I can tell you thats the last move you want to zone with. In the game if you cant control horizontal AND vertical space, you arent a zoner. Thats why Arthur sucks.

Yea I am ambidextrous but at the same time I really think that fighting games just force you to practice. I have been playing fighting games since SF2 and always was fascinated by the players that wanted to play on a certain side of the screen. After all this time there is no excuse.

What anyone really thought this game was gonna have less BS than MVC3? ‘‘Ya’ll bit**** are crazy’’ lol, I think I’m gonna hate (& Love) it twice as much, but this time im somewhat prepared lol. & I like to rushdown constantly and get bored fighting & playing keepaway and thus make stupid mistakes so this prob. wont be my favorite version. And im still scared of PW lol.

2 More weeks, I can’t wait. I wanna play Vergil and the rest already :D, I’ve practiced like every character in the last 2 months due to boredom… I need some new ish.

And I also had some trouble with SF4 regarding sides, I used to only be able to do solid FADC stuff on the right side with Ken lol (When I first started) now im fine on both sides though. Also this doesn’t occur in MVC3 for me, sometimes with doom combos but its fine now. It kinda sucks that fighting games are getting easier execution wise cause I needed an excuse to buy a stick :, for SF X Tekken nor UMVC3 I don’t see any use for it at all really, I can do Mag/Doom/Dante/Viper stuff fine.

Stick Jam session on your team, Vergil/Dante is a really good team anyway. Now you have vertical space control to go along with your BS normals

And don’t forget that he can cancel his DRAGON PUNCH into teleports. Oh, and his normals anti air even better than Vanilla Dante’s. If that’s not vertical space control idk what is.

I personally don’t think he’ll make a great zoner (as in, other zoners will be able to force him to approach), but he’ll definitely be able to keep out rushdown oriented characters with assists and long+safe normals.

There are going to be 35 million Vergil uses online…I can feel the imminent spam coming…
