Nothing major but vergil has a wall jump/cling ~1:14
How boring.
Her wall jump is nice and I find it useful sometimes as it has decent range and speed (only thing I wish she could do is wall jump on the wall in front of her, but you canāt even jump on the other side of a cornered opponent without MF). I bet even less people know that Wolverine has a wall jump as well. They might as well take it out of the game. Iāve never seen anyone use it and itās really useless compared to X-23s. Wolverineās always been able to wall jump but in Marvel 3, it doesnāt help Wolverine do anything other than become an easier target. If the range was better on it, maybe it could buff Wolverineās gameā¦ mmmā¦ probably by 0.1%.
I wonder if other Wolverine players know he has a wall jump. Iāll admit I didnāt know that. I wanna try it out now just to see how bad it is.
EDIT: Tried it out and itās definitely much slower and covers less distance than X-23ās. I guess itās not bad to use to get out of a corner though.
Invincible berserker slash with assist kinda defeated the purpose of doing anything with Wolverine that required though of course. Especially with super fast ground bouncing dive kick that can cross up and berserker charge to make them even faster.
At this point, I wonāt be surprised if anyone finds anything new or already there but forgotten/covered with wolvie considering his BnB is the only thing anyone ever does. I sure as hell didnāt know he had a wall jump.
Going back to the Vergil subject, I think Chris is one of my options to accompany him as the First character to build meter with his Handgun-Magnun game. Itās just a possibility, though, but since Chrisā Hypers arenāt all that good but how his Zoning Game is getting buffed, I think they might just work well together.
It also depends on the capacity of building meter he has by himself, and/or if his Assist is good enough. Probably these two factors will determine where in my Line-up Iāll place him.
Yea I hope he has some worthwhile assists, so far most of the new characters assists look a little underwhelming but only time will tell. As hyped as I am for vergil it does seem like he is gonna be the exact opposite of his brother in the sense that dante can fit on any team and any spot on a team whereas it looks like vergil might need a team built around him. Not a big deal of course, I mean phoenix needs a team built around her but that doesnāt make her any less of a boss.
But with his meh looking assists and apparent reliance on meter he might end up needing a team built around him. Of course this is all speculation and I could end up being 100 percent wrong in this regard.
I REALLY want to know if rapid slash pushes the opponent away if they block it. Cause if so calling that assist behind a decent priority beam will be SOOOO good for zoning (planning to call it behind Hadangeki Buster cancel myself)
He may be reliant on meter, but once people can develop BnBs with him his meter gain might offset that (like what happened to Viper). And he has all the tools necessary to create long combos (wallbounce, ground bounce, crumple, etc.). Although this games hitstun deterioration might nix that.
His assists look pretty sick IMO, lots of variety too (gtfo, zoning, combo extension). And his Devil Trigger only amps it up further, DT Judgement Cut is massive and gives me evil thoughts with Dormammu in particular because itās like an extra big :l: Dark Hole. I admit heāll probably need a specific team set up, but the pay off looks pretty f**king sick
So if you have Judgement Cut as an Assist, and he has Devil Trigger on, then each time you call him, heāll do that giant cut? That sounds awesome!
I dunno about the other 2 assists, one is probably Rising Sun as your classic anti-air, and I donāt know the third.
Second assist is Rising Sun, the third assist is Rapid Slash. Rumor has it that it might have invincibility.
ārumor hasā meaning Seth Killian said it does, but extensive testing couldnāt find the invuln window.
I wanna really wanna try to start Vergil on point in my team so I can DT>DHC and abuse those assists ASAP and have him sit all nice and cozy in second while I build more meter for him
Yea I forgot bout the viper mentality, but what makes me doubt he will be like viper is that no matter what happens viper is always building meter, while he canāt build meter in either of his installs. Oh well time will tell, either way i definitely see him being a beast in the future.
Yea I have him in mind for second as well, bar builder + good point char first (Dante probably) good assist for third, preferably beam (I wanna play Dr. strangeā¦so Dante/Vergil/Strange might become a team, not sure though) Although yea Viper factor but hmā¦I do think heāll turn out diff.
Reasons Iāll probably have Vergil second and think itāll be a more preferred position
- He uses a lot of Bar, so having a bar builder first would be ideal and I wanna continue using Dante and heās good on point as well.
(I realize he might be able to build good bar himself, but tbh I dont think heāll have that Zero/Dante factor due to him not looking like he has a lot of loops/specials) - Vergil seems like he has a nice crossup assist that might have a little invinciblity so the point char can benefit from his assists.
- Vergil himself needs an assist to do re-launch combos/potentially more resets so I want Vergil to have an assist ready.
- Im thinking of playing Dr.strange, but tbh I donāt see him being an AMAZING anchor butā¦he has a beam assistsā¦beam assists + teleport chars = kewl.
- if I have Vergil as anchor he will have to do all his mixups by himself so easier to block left/right w/e mixups. + I feel he benifits from an assist.
Not sure though, but im probably gonna have V second. Not sure about my third and first char for that specific team. But anything can change this mindset. I really want him first as wellā¦but it seems he uses so much bar that I feel you wonāt be able to build enough before he is low on HP/Can really benefit from it.
No oneās even bothered trying DT assist version of it. Seth is known for either half assing his story or just telling you and figuring out the other half.
Iām gonna start him first just so he gets intro rights lol. Amaterasu is looking like a Devilās Best Friend at the moment (but Ammy is everyoneās friend even though she drives everyone nuts, like that jackass everyone mooches liquor off of at parties just because they can).
In all seriousness though everyone knows how good Cold Star is if you can keep it safe, and that provides Vergil with his Teleport mixups and helps with combo extensions off of High Time as well.
I wonder if Devil Trigger>Mist DHC would let Ammy combo off of Vergilās ground/wall bounce? Doubtful, but I canāt get the image out of my head now that itās popped in lol.
No, Seth said it had some invincibility when Vergil is on point, but none as an assist.
Has anyone actually tried the Judgment Cut assist? I see potential in it as it looks like a safer, quicker Dark Hole.
itās been used but I think most are still experimenting with rapid slash more. I love the DT assist version of it though.
