I’ll probably pair him with Taskmaster/Firebrand (Taskmaster for the battery and H Arrow assist, Firebrand because he’s a sick character and looks like he’ll be a decent battery.) Then I’ll probably go with Trish for my third slot so my mixups will be insane, and inescapable. Not sure how well she is as a battery though.

Can you detail how the teleports work exactly? Ground to ground. Ground to air. Air to ground. Left/Right/Above for each.
He can’t teleport in the air if i read correctly, so Im guessing its just a tracking version of weskers teleports.
we pretty much already know that the teleport works like the other tracking teleports (ala dormammu)
Gotta say I’m wondering now, as swords has instant startup (or nearly anyways) does it have any startup invuln ala soul orbs? I’m guessing not
Also, now that I’m thinking about it, formation change seems to be about as fast as startup, so that could be a good use for swords>teleport maybe.

edit: Per teleport, certain moves have a canned teleport cancel to ground tho’, and are you sure he can’t do it in the air? I’d be kind of surprised.
I was really hoping he could Trick Up in the air. If not, I’ll be disappointed, but maybe the normal teleport will track to the opponent if they’re in the air and you can follow up anyways. If it’s only Trick Down, guess I’ll have to figure out a new speculation to what his combos will be.

a little taste: combo into ground bounce, wall bounce, teleport cancel, swords, devil triger, proceed with combo
TELEPORTS
QCB + L = in front of opponent
QCB + M = behind opponent
QCB + H = above opponent
Devil Trigger amps up the hotbox for all his specials (size and speed) for assists this is especially good.
Yes you cannot teleport in the air. The DP cancel you see Vergil do is done by pressing hard again (similar to wesker) However to teleport cancel his other command normal (f.H) his done manually
Wow, thanks for sharing all that! In general, did you enjoy the feel of Vergil’s playstyle? Also, you can hold L M or H to charge up Round Trip, right? I’ll update the original post with all this new stuff.
Thanks for the information Vulcan. Judging by that smiley, he’ll have some sick combos, haha. And when you say all his specials are enhanced in DT, what are you referring to? Judgment Cut, Rapid Slash? What about Beowulf attacks or Force Edge?
I can’t wait until you get the vids up, the sooner the better. So his teleports aren’t Air OK? Wesker can teleport in the air multiple times. Can he teleport in the air, but it tracks the opponent? Or can he just not teleport at all?

They’re not going to give characters with weak ouroborous for a level 1 and super long ranged sword normals an air ok teleport. Wesker has to be able to teleport multiple times because his teleports don’t track where the opponent moves and just go forward or backward a set distance on their own.
Yea its probably all for the best in the long run, I mean phoenix had a tracking air to ground teleport, and look how much fun that was(for anyone not using her of course).
With rapid slash not being invincible as an assist, I suppose that makes his judgement cut the safer one for helping rushdown.
True. Since I know more properties, I’ve been speculating about combos.
Stinger > Trick (Regular Teleport) > S > H > S > Trick (Regular Teleport, if it tracks opponent’s position in air) > B >C > Starfall > High Time > Trick > B > C > Judgment Cut
Seems like a fair amount of damage, add Lunar Phases, some Judgment Cuts and Spiral Swords and I can see his combos potentially reaching 750-800K. Possibly more.
Well it does seem he isn’t as crazy as it seemed originally.
I’m not sure how much people are actually going to want to do SHS, apparently it scales like a total bitch.
