You’re thinking of Round Harvest, not Round Trip.
ohhh… so right you are!
What do you think is better
Strider/Vergil/Task or Strider/Vergil/Ghost rider?
I love Ghost rider’s bad ass dialogues… that nigga talks some shit.
they should just rename the game Vegil and dante amd Strider vs everybody else.
IMO, anyone who didn’t lol the first time they heard him say “Hell hath no fury like a flaming skeleton on a motorcycle” has no sense of humor…
Here is the list of Ghost rider quotes
To Vergil: "Long have you played with fire, boy – but now, you’re playing with Hellfire."
To Vergil: "The day of judgement is upon you, scum."
Vergil to Ghost rider: “You? Judge me? Hmph.”
To Dante: "Leave the demon hunting to the experts fool"
To Storm (i think):“The sun doesn’t rise in Hell, goddess.”
There is another one to Trish, from what i heard. I heard it is ten times more bad ass then what he says to the others.
I wonder if Rapid Slash is hyper cancelable. If it is, then Vergil has Wolverine setups: Call horizontal assist, do an ambiguous Rapid Slash, cancel recovery frames into DT or Spiral Swords, and then start a combo if you land the RS.
You’ve had experiences with his assist? When you by light version, that means the projectile is close range?
I’m seriously settled with Strider/Vergil, i’m trying to think of a good build here. I would like to know the assist usage and all that shit. I’m HYPED!
Just nitpicking here and I have no proof, but I think that one is to Ammy. Makes most sense at least.
I doubt it will be as effective of logans though simply because(correct me if im wrong here) vergil only has one version of that move and as such the mix-up potential is reduced to a certain extent.
Yeah you’re right on that. It does have invincibility though so maybe it’ll be used as more of a reactive move? I also hope its hyper cancellable so you can go into Swords afterwards.
Also, it’d better keep its invincibility as an assist.
To be honest, I really don’t think his “rapid slash” is going to be a very viable mixup tool because it isn’t that fast and only hits from one side. I see it being like tekkaman blade’s crossup special in TvC (if anyone played that game) where he moves to the other side and then his lance follows behind and hits you. It may catch people who aren’t that experienced at the game but anyone who knows what they’re doing and what the move is should be blocking it without much problem. Depending on how much invincibility it has, I see it mostly as being a tool to get in. Maybe goes through projectiles? That would be cool. Would also be cool to run through slow moves like hulk or nemesis’ super armor moves and just cut them down in true vergil fashion. Haha.
I hope it keeps its invincibility, but I doubt its gonna happen. Especially since haggar and tron caused so much problems I doubt capcom will take a chance with another invincible assist. Although I do hope he has some good assists, his orb one looks cool, kinda like dorms black hole.
used to cause problems…lol
Yeah I’m not expecting much, but hey, the biggest problem with Haggar and Tron was how easy it was to combo off of them. Rapid slashes seems significantly harder to combo off of. Kind of like how there okay with Hulks AAA and how they let Nemesis’ wallbounce assist be armored but gave it the rocket follow-up so you can’t really combo off of it.
But whatever, I’ve decided it that I’m most likely gonna use Vergil regardless of his assists at this point.
Correct. It also hits several times, meaning the follow-up combo will do much less damage.
Partial invincibility is fine for assists though, they didn’t take it all away, even from haggar.
I gotta admit though, its like they were thinking of making a lag-gimmick friendly character when they designed Vergil.
Preliminary thoughts on how the general flow of Vergil’s combos are gonna go:
LMH xx Stinger (wall bounce) xx Trick, MHS, j.MH xx Helm Breaker (hard knockdown), OTG Assist, Killer Bee (hard knockdown), OTG Assist, MH xx Lunar Phase (ground bounce), Rising Sun xx Trick Cancel xx Maximum Bubbles.
It seems like he might have a hard time getting that 1 wall bounce unless he starts with it first, this is assuming he wall bounces grounded opponents.
Add in a Spiral Swords or a Devil Trigger for Smokin’ Sick Style.
^Starfall causes ground bounce, it doesn’t hard knockdown
I’m a big fan of Vergil and play him in DMC3: SE. Trying to figure out if his combo options are the same as that game. From what I’ve seen his combos flow almost in an identical fashion, which means I would already know most of the links. Anyways, I’ve noticed you can teleport cancel Rising Sun and appear back on the ground on block.
I’ve never seen anyone follow up something with an air teleport. I was hoping you could do Upper Cut > Rising Sun > Trick Up > Starfall > High Time > Aerial Rave > Judgment Cut Hyper
