He looks easymode not because of fewer specials, but because a bunch of his tools look easier to use. His normals look like they actually have more range than Dantes, his teleports are better, he doesn’t have to worry about cancels to get the good damage (except out of his DP), his berserker barrage seems easier to use than $1000000, and sword mode is the ultimate Duuuhhhhhhh move. (it just occurred to me that you could totally get some soul orbs activation games there too, heh)
To be fair everyone in the game is easy mode compared to Dante cept Viper, M.O.D.O.K and Magneto.
So…yeah.
Iron Man is probably harder than all those characters combined honestly.
Of my team I would say X-23 and Dr.Doom are definitely both harder to use on point than Dante. The only thing that’s really hard about Dante is his bold cancel combos and the fact that you have to remember a lot of moves to get the most out of him. To make him legit scary you just need to learn some basic spacing and some day one combos and just have a good assist based reset afterwards. You can’t fuck with Dante’s swords at all and now that hammer is easier to in Ultimate people are going to hope random Dante’s start mashing j.S again. Hammer is completely more ridiculous than j.S and its literally execution being the only reason that isn’t spammed yet by randoms online.
Can’t wait to go online when every Joe Shmoe can pull hammer out their ass.

Try an Iron man Bnb then try a Dante bnb. Dante isn’t even close to being on Iron Man’s excecution level dude.

They will. She ain’t that hard to use and she’s good.
The advanced Iron Man bnbs, like the self relaunch or ground fly combos are really difficult. I don’t think that the autopilot one was meant to exist b/c if it was it wouldn’t be so strict and difficult, and the other krispy cream one drop b/c of his small j.L hitbox unless you start it right next to them. Other than that his combos are easy.
Iron Man definitely has the hardest execution but I think it would become easy with practice. I think nearly no one uses him bc even if u do know his combos and execute them flawlessly…he still sucks. Seriously even people who like him say that he’s a high execution low reward character.
But at the same time its hard to compare the two. Dante is usually referred to as a high execution character bc his combos are long (gotta remember everything), his BC bnbs have a bunch of links, he has double motion moves, and a lot of his combos require good timing. IM on the other hand AFAIK is high execution character because his bnbs are flight combos which means that they’re links. I’ve tried using him before and if I wasn’t near a corner there was no way I was gonna do a good combo bc I don’t think he has an easy midscreen combo.

tbh, iron mans combos actually aren’t THAT hard to do… the relaunch bnb may be a bit tricky at first, but once you got the timing down it’s okay. i don’t even play the character on one of my main teams and just learned the combo because it looks so sexy. imo the reason iron man is hard to play is less about his combo execution and more about opening people up and proper hitconfirming. his neutral game is probably more execution heavy than his actual combos. in this way he’s kind of similar to viper (just worse of course ^^), the combos may be harder compared to the rest of the cast, but the thing that makes the characgter “hard” to play is neutral game. same with modok.
also converting random hits against airborne opponents into damage is way harder with these characters than with let’s say dante or mags…
