Now the real question is do the swords get buffed the way his specials do during DT?

Anything above 800,000 is great. Idc about Health anyways, more reason to play him knowing that low hp will turn some people off. Actually gotta put an effort in.

Although if he was like Wesker that is large hp + good char i wouldnt mind either lol.

It’s pretty hilarious that Dante has like 23 special moves, 10 command normals and is still missing like 12 moves.

Well I dont wanna remember that many moves so I’m good. I can barely remember the ones he has now. I was kinda afraid they would give Dante 3 new moves just to mind fuck us. LOL.

So right now the poor boy Vergil seems to be having some huge meter needs. He needs meter for about all his good stuff which makes me sad honestly. Single fact that he can’t gain meter without having to have to resort to exchange combos is something that might kill the hype for me. Can’t gain meter in DT modeWish he could Both versions of his blue swords super needs meter to change the placements, as well he needs meter for his level 4 =/ this guy is gonna be one spoiled little demon spawn boy.

vergil is exactly what i wanted him to be easy mode dante with faster buttons and simpler spacing gameplan. The only thing ill be missing is reverb shock and air dash but with a good teleport (dantes is ass imo) im not gonna need the tele airdash mixup as much anymore.

Sparda Shuffle it is then. Cuz trolling is so…distasteful. A crude habit for unrefined weaklings.

I gotta admit tho’, with how good dante is, I’m not sure why they felt the need to make him “Easy mode Dante”.

And about devil trigger, its the same reason you don’t have Dante constantly in DT… except Vergil’s non DT hypers are arguably better (especially swords). Meter isn’t infinite :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow I could not be more of the opposite opinion, I’m more of the person who prefers mixups than very long combos, I don’t like to play the high execution characters does that make me bad? not neccesilarly, just prefer a different cup of tea. We still don’t know how well these characters will do once the game is released so will just have to wait for them. The only thing I can agree with is the damage being too high and or the health being too low. I feel like Umvc3 is mvc3 but everyone has level 1 xfc permenantly. Capcom either needs to double everyone’s hp or lower the damage drastically. On a side note I may be biased because I only came into the competitive fighting game community only recently, (Not too recently 3 years ago). Most likely you expected Vergil to be high execution complicated character like Dante and are a bit deflated because of that. I’m surprised he’s pretty simple too, but he’s a goddamn awesome character either way.

Why would fewer specials necessarily make him easy-mode anything? Because there’s less stuff to remember?

And I suppose Dante would already be easy-mode Dante with the simplified style cancels.

If what people are saying about Verg being meter-intensive is true, playing him effectively without meter may end up being harder. Though one would think that the speed and range of some of his stuff would still make him effective without spending bar.

Wesker is definitely better with meter but he can fight pretty fine without meter also. I feel like Vergil will be the same way. I’m putting Vergil first and seeing where it goes since nobody’s fucking with his normals any way. He’ll be a good battery just out of virtue that it’s very likely he’ll land hits first. Seeing you’re not really supposed to spend meter unless you have to with your first character I’d say it works.

What about his air-dash and double jump?

Eh, Vergil’s meter whoring won’t be much a problem for me anyways for I have Chris to build it for him. Besides, my Dante already whores DT mode like crazy. Tk’ed Vortex for him is going to be the new hammer.

The only thing I might use the swords for is against troublesome characters like Zero and Strider or use it for incoming setups after snapbacks/death of a character. Hopefully, I will probably try and find a way to make Round trip useful. (If he’ll still have it in the retail build)

I hope Vergil has more command normals with Beowulf and can cancel his Helm breaker into teleports for shenanigans.

What I find annoying that people dont do when they have Wesker on point is when they dont bait the tag out and go into rino charge. i stopped and shut down SO many people. i actually made a person stop using raw tag until it was safe.

If you know a tag is coming, I would argue that it’s easier to block high and punish than commit to a Rhino Charge which could get fucked simply by someone delaying their tag, or messing up and actually calling the assist. I don’t see any benefit of using Rhino Charge to punish an obvious hard tag honestly.

Damn you scrubs :smiley: (<3) Its not a good thing if he has Wolverine level derp execution. Tbh Dante isn’t even that hard execution wise, some chars with tight loops are way harder. Although from what I’ve seen he won’t be that easy to play seeing as you got to cancel a lot of things into teleports to do a basic follow up (unless you can just…really cancel into teleport like a special) doesn’t matter anyways though I guess.

As long as he’s fun to play and a badass which he is from what i’ve seen im good

I am just not all that stoked on him, I guess. I really want to be though, so maybe stuff hasn’t been shown to us, but S-Kill seemed rather final when he went through Vergils 4 specials, and like 4 command normals, he didn’t even hint at him having anything else, but who knows. There are characters who seem basic on the surface, but end up being rather execution heavy.

Also, has anyone noticed the weird pauses that all the new chars seem to have when doing their normal magic series? Vergil, Dr. Strange, Strider, all of them have this real strange pause action after each attack, before doing the next one, it seems really jerky, and not a smooth transition like everyone in MVC3 has.

i do it cause it looks cool. but now i kind of see why it would make sense just to simple block.
