I’ve never seen him play other than whats on youtube. And all those matches are like “dark prince gets perfected” lol. He’s probably not a scrub, if he had the balls to bet 3k against someone like clockw0rk I’m guessing he must’ve been somewhat confident in his skills. They just didn’t show in the vids we’ve seen so far.
I didn’t know he’s beaten top players. Who did he beat? Just curious, I don’t really follow marvel that much.
How can he be nervous talking all the shit he did. DP should have been oozing with confidence after dissing clockwork the way he did. People who talk a load of shit and smack aren’t nervous, this cocky bastard basically got outplayed and outclassed
Indeed…
I don’t doubt he was nervous, but I think it was more or less the video’s awesome editting: the camera shots and cuts, and the use of music that conveys to you this sense of nervousness and tension.
last Cal Poly Tourney, he knocked Clockw0rk out. He beat Duc Vader in a MM for $100.
I also saw in the tourney results at Metrock1’s house(or somebody Metrock knows), DP won the tourney of a $1 entry, with David Lee coming in 2nd. I dunno if they were playing serious, but I do know it was serious enough for the person to actually post the results of the 8 man tourney.
as far as his gameplay, hes gotten a shit load better over the past couple years. he did take on the name duc jr, and im not gonna say that duc put him over the edge, but playing day and night with one of the best players can improve your game play no doubt. i think in this match he just lacked the mental focus and let the money aspect cause him to play “out of character.” for sure he missed many combos that he normally hits, and standing right behind him during the match, i felt the tension. clockwork on the other hand played it like a champ and im not sure if he was playing angry or not, but he fed off of dpc’s mistakes and saw that he could basically do anything he wanted during the match. ie. 4 bombs in a row that you will see in a later match. anyways, just letting you guys know that dpc is not a scrub, and has the ability to win. clockwork just played perfect and wasnt gonna be denied in this match. hope shadyk can hold it down for episode 2 of “DPC vs the world.”
I totally believe there’s some truth to this. Even a scrub like me can see some “nervous mistakes” he made, like when he messed up some super jumps and normal jumped instead or when he missed those fast fly comboes. Maybe this all goes back to what was said before, veteran tournament players like cl0ckwork are used to the pressure while people not quite as experienced like DP choke up when the whole world has their eyes on him. I mean sure he’s played in tournaments before, but has he really felt as much pressure as he probably felt in that match? Probably not.
Hell, the pressure must’ve only been compounded after he talked so much shit. I’m sure he must’ve realized how bad he was going to look when he lost all that money after talking so much shit. Then after every mistake he made and after every time cl0ck capitalized I’m sure in his head a part of him must’ve been going “OMG OMG I’m losing control of this match” which totally doesn’t help the whole nervousness factor, you just feel the match slip away.
Then again, maybe cl0ck just started to really get serious for this match and came prepared. Who can really say?
3 characters with 50% life is greater then 2 full characters. Specifically when Cable is involved, guy needs help to beast. Plus losing Cyke versus Doom makes it 10 times harder.
I’m guessin he kept hitting Cable with the snapback combos to get to Cyke and render Cable almost helpless seeing as how he kept using Sentinel to start off the match.
