A lot of people think it’s ok to randomly tag against strider, since he can’t do big damage. But strider gains momentum,meter and mix ups in combos, so it’s not the best idea. Strider is all about momentum.
This is true but honestly…
Tagging in versus Strider > Tag versus Mag, Storm, Sent, Cable. Storm is only brutal depending on who’s behind her in the DHC line though and 90% of the time it’s Sent. If you’re random tagging then Strider already has the momentum most likely.

I hated the fact that he was starting Sent against Strider. Cable would fair better, especially after seeing how crazy that lockdown can be. Sentinel is too big for the chip game that S/D has.
The fact that starting Cable first doesn’t matter because Clock’s Sentinel was holding it down against DP’s Cable. Clock’s Sentinel stayed on top of Cable the whole time, stomping out any attempts of j. lp -> Fierce, AHVB.
Did DP use Storm at all? I think that Storm would of made a bigger impact if she was on DP’s team. Storm = Runaway.

sent gives strider a HARD ASS TIME when you know what to do. DP kept flying in the air which gives strider a free chance to activate. Sentinel should stay grounded and spit check strider all day. A spit here, a little poke here then 1 FF combo is 80% of striders life.
when you counter pick s\d with cyke AA, your supposed to use it just to counter call doom. Thats the gameplan against s\d. strider calls doom, you call cyke and make strider fight you solo.

Like honestly…he was on fucking POINT that day. This is among the best he’s ever played. I also think the second game really shows what can happen when clockw0rk doesn’t make any mistakes.
I’d just like to point out that DP does have some good experience fighting S/D and that he’d probably wreck just about any other S/D player. But a counter team in itself is only as good as its user is compared to the opponent. Clock has seen that cyclops shit every day. People have tried it for years on him. Sure, using Cyclops gives you plenty of options against Strider. But it also opens up for a lot of things Strider can do as well. Personally, I think nowadays there are better so called counters for S/D than Sent/Cable/Cyke. But that’s mostly from my perspective
