DARK AWAKE aka CHAOS BREAKER, on SALE on Jap PSN NOW!! (ReadTheFirstPost)GARAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

anyone online add me: grokslam i wanna see what online play is like.

Do people not know how to make a SRK wiki account?

Everybody add me please id love to play online some day: liquidvexx

Outside of requesting an account, no.

That’s how you make one. Then you wait a day or two for someone to manual verify your account. I’m pretty sure they don’t even care if you don’t use your real name or if all your info is fake, just so long as they can tell you’re not a spambot.

Anyways, I’m going to try to get back around to the wiki. All my previous Chaos Breaker time that was used to upload videos and work on the wiki has turned in to playing time.

the online is rough… lots of dropped inputs. but i cant get over how fun it is locally.

lol yeah, ggs mang. damn you live in canada? not bad for that far though. people in my own state are worse connect

Yeah I am just playing the waiting game right now, 4 days and counting. As soon as it gets verified I will blow the wiki up with all this stockpiled info.
So don’t worry, you won’t have to really hold the fort and lose significant playing time.
I’ve been playing so much that I just want to take some time to get other people to a point where they can greatly understand the game on a highly competitive level. Or at least give people a remote clue as to what their characters should be doing.

I’ve just been learning the characters by watching Japanese videos, and mimicking what they do.

this game is tooo nice! loving the whole cast.

ooh im sure gonna get this game once i get back to japan… i used to play it after getting knocked out from sf4 tourney at TRF… though i didnt know any strategy or actual move list lol…

Not really digging how the game handles inputs under lag. In my (admittedly limited) experience, 3-bar connection means you’re tempting fate trying to throw a qcf fireball. Playing Fina without being able to chuck plasma consistently is like pulling teeth with pliers. Inside a volcano. In hell.

Locally where lag isn’t an issue, the game is a blast. I regret every word of shit I ever talked on this game before I played it. The game’s a little simple in terms of how it footsies, but the items and movesets of the various characters give it a lot of extra depth to plumb.

This game has a lot of great ideas (especially Bernhard…holy fuck he’s awesome), and it moves at a nice brisk pace while still keeping the execution barrier at a nice midrange level. It’s kinda like the Cliff’s Notes version of CvS2, with a kooky clash system thrown in (which actually makes things nice and interesting in terms of anti-air and fireball/multi-hit move pressure…reminds me of post-JD guessing games from CvS2).

Yeah I don’t ever play online, the netcode is straight up terrible, but it seems everywhere I go people love this game, so I don’t think I’ll need to rely on it much.

And yeah, I sometimes call this game Marvel vs SNK 2 just because of aforementioned reasons and because of the assist traps you can pull off, the potential length of combos and the fact that super chip is SO GODLIKEEEE.
Speaking of assist traps, oh my god, stuff like Mara + Nagar assist in the corner (unblockable setup), and Vritra+Bernhard is so disgusting. Vritra+Bernhard in the corner is a 50/50 guess with your character’s life on the line, anywhere else on the screen is about 50% on the line. Better guess right.

i spent a bunch of time with curse head in training mode yesterday. i’ll post what i found sometime soon in a combo vid format or something

I’m having the most fun with the undead team atm (Bernhard, Zon & Nsidor), so I guess I’ll stick with them for now.
Although after fooling around with Orc, I find his playstyle kind of fun… I like his total design with all the assists 'n stuff has Old Skool Warcraft written all over it (pre-WoW that is ofc)

Orc has orc zoning.

Yo dawg I herd you like orcs

Also, I got my srk wiki account finally
The CB wiki page is about to get gangraped with information.

EDIT: Combos for Ramda are up, working on Vritra’s right now. Gonna focus on combos for all the characters first and then I will go back and do strategy and rundown of normals. Anyone having trouble doing Vritra’s infinite consistently should check it out ;]

So I’m running a Dark Awake tourney in NC this weekend, I’ll TRY to get some footage, no guarantees though. It’ll probably end up being a dick around tournament since a lot of people haven’t played it yet but I’m looking forward to it.

So I found a Ramda loop in the corner with the amulet:

j.C 2C 2C 623B Amulet IB (2C 623A 623A 623B Amulet IB)x2 2C 623A 623D

Looks really cool, air throw ender is pretty stylish and it looks like it’ll be close to a 100%. Can’t tell for sure because of health regen kicking in before the air throw.

Midscreen you can do XXX into 214C Amulet IB loop for good damage.

Also a really simple loop with Nagar, not sure if it works mid screen, didn’t try:

(j.C 2C 2146C Amulet IB)x2 j.C 2C 2146C 236236A/B/C

Very easy, hit confirmable, use it if you have meter to blow I guess and wanna kill.

Amulet is like the loop item lol.

Edit: Also found another vritra infinite! Works on midscreen standing opponents, but doesn’t work once you get right on top of them in the corner: ****

(5C 214A AAA (hit the last spinning A pretty deep) ) x Infinity till close to wall then: 5C 623C Amulet IB j.66B2 x infinity.

That loop is incredibly hard though. The most I could get was 3 before I dropped it. It’d be a lot easier if the spinning attacks were consistent but it’s hard to get them to hit the same way every time. You h ave to hit the last spin pretty deep for the 5C to combo afterwards.

I always feel really bad when I tell you, but combos like that are old.
Any item with a Geyser IB can be juggled like that, and the Ramda combo you listed is a pretty general loop.
Basically the loop items are any item with a Geyser IB, Blood Sword, Earth Hammer, Spike Mace (to a smaller extent) and Talisman. I might be forgetting one but that looks about right.

And that other combo looks like it is basically a modified Vritra midscreen-infinite, only it requires meter. Vritra’s midscreen infinite is the same up until the corner, at which time you can just j.66D until they die. 50 does it a lot. And the one he does is meterless.

Really great that you are taking time to discover shit in the game though, look on this site if you wanna find out advanced combos for characters: http://blogs.dion.ne.jp/aspara_friends/
Good luck with the tournament, hope everyone is as receptive to the game as people in this thread!
