I’m sure that’s actually Ares. He’d have no problem working for Norman. Whoever lets him smash things is cool in his book.

The Dark Avengers are part of the Dark Reign crossover event that came out of Secret Invasion.

why do you think daken is parading around in daddy’s spandex? what possible reason could Daken have to wear the Wolverine costume when Wolvie is out there fighting in another Wolverine costume?

For the same reason Bullseye is parading around as Hawkeye, and Venom is reeling in the tongue and pretending to be Black Costume Spidey: Legitimacy. Norman is trying to play off his team as the “true” Avengers, something he couldn’t really pull off if his team consisted of a bunch of known criminals. Admittedly, Daken isn’t as publicly known as Bullseye, or Venom, but he certainly isn’t revered as a hero either. Since Logan was part of the original New Avengers squad, the appearance of “Wolverine” on this team would only seem natural to the general public.
Doesn’t one of Daken’s claws come out from under his forearm?

I like Deodato’s art in terms of his storytelling angles and when he draws normal people. When he draws superheroes, it seems like he hasn’t gotten rid of his '90s stylistic flourishes. Noh-Varr, Sentry, “Spidey,” and “Wolvie” all look gross with that musculature. They way their thighs and abs are all exaggerated just does not fit well with the rest of his art and his otherwise realistic style. Even the Iron Man suit looks like it’s on steroids. I never understood that - why an Iron Man suit would need a six pack (or a twelve pack) of abs. At least there aren’t any rubber nipples.
I wonder if Bendis is going for an O.G. Thunderbolts vibe here, where the last page of the comic will be a shocker out of left-field.
