And I’m pretty sure hammer got less invincibility. But I wasn’t like totally testing it, so still unsure!

Oh yeah, two more things:

  • With a long combo, ending in beehive to jetstream does not work anymore. They flip out after like the first hit of jetstream.

  • The jumping mash C move is NOT X-factor cancelable.

also i heard that the damage of beehive was nerfed…but im still going to do it because it feels soooo good to do. But yeah if you cant beehive into jet stream can you beehive into beehive?

Air style shots not XF cancellable? Well it’s special move cancellable so you can probably just cancel it into beehive or hammer and pop it then.

what are anti-air abcs? is that where the enemy is in the air and you do abcs? and if they are taking that out that mean he can only launch when the character is on the ground? that’s kind of ridiculous isn’t it? i mean if that happens then all you’ve got to do to beat dante is jump every second of the game…which everyone already does so yeah…of course i could just not understand what that nerf means…explanation anyone?

Yeah that’s basically what he’s saying but I don’t mind that nerf either. Honestly Dante was one of or if not the only character in the game that could mash on s.L,M,H to hit confirm into full combos from the ground or the air which was pretty stupid. Especially considering those normals have hit boxes in the back it makes it so you never have to think about where you’re swinging swords as long as they catch something. The range that s.L can anti air from should not warrant full bnb’s. 8 frame start up is way too fast to get full bnbs from that range. Getting 500 plus k for going into training mode for 5 minutes off ground and aerial based characters from half screen? Yeah…

You can still confirm into combos off of airborne opponents but it will most likely require doing the Ryan Hunter stuff like waiting for them to go airborne and then hit confirming L,M,H into weasel shot and then carrying the rest of the combo. Getting combos off of both air and ground with the same bnb was way too easy to do and it’s the same reason Wolverine gets swiss cheese when he mashes on c.L’s and why Sentinel actually has to do something with execution to land damage after his bnb now.

One of the biggest problems I have with the game in general is that hit confirming is not big enough of a strategy. With infinite block strings minus advance guarding you shouldn’t be able to just mash on normals and get combos that take off half your life. It’s what made any random joe a threat in this game. They never have to know whether a bnb is landing or not to launch after it with Wolverine/Wesker/Dante etc but characters like Chun Li and Iron Man gotta be super specific with hit confirming? There was no balance at all with the hit confirming between characters.

Yeah, no more ABCS ezmode antiair, this was like the first thing I noticed.

ABS / :l::m::s: still works though. But then you also have to be mindful of divekick / :qcf::l:'s worse hitbox so you can’t get too many hits in before doing it now.

what if you just go AA:h::s: j.:m:j.:m:j.:h::qcf::l:? can you still do that?

I don’t think that would work because AA :h: is unlikely to actually be an AA now. It seemed to only hit about as high up as Dante’s hunched over body (which isn’t very high up at all).

Yes, this still works. I can’t confirm it, but it does look seem like beehive indeed got a damage nerf.

Ahhh, very smart. :smiley: I think you mean Killer Bee, but I get you. That should work, I bet.

After the basic string as an anti-air, the hits you do in the air seem to push them back further. So, it’s pretty hard getting that j.:m::h: to Killer Bee to connect. Even if you add a double jump in there, it’s still hard it seems.

Also, connecting Sky Dances seem to be impossible in even the most basic combos with just a simple Killer Bee to relaunch. Hit stun deterioration seems to kick in a lot faster.

I can confirm beehive into beehive still works. And sky dance seems useless now.

So you can’t Juggle the opponent anymore with a anti-air a,b,c,? Thats kind of stupid since so many characters can do so |: its not like he had a million options to get a free combo lol.

Man It sucks you gotta OTG quicker after the hammer too, seeing as im a slow mofo and I mostly hit opponents high up in the air…The + Side I guess is easier motions, I can style a bit more…but that also got changed so you can’t do to long/or at least the longer traditional combos anymore ._… I dont know man, I dont see the DT thing as such a significant buff either.

Why the hell did they nerf Skydance? If I dont feel like bold canceling in lag I go for the basic combo but for an OTG/Reset/mixup after, its his ONLY + Main air to ground/OTG special apart from hammer isn’t it?.. its not like it was OP ._. Sigh Thisll be fun

The range that Dante can ABC anti air from is an absurd range that no one else in the game could accomplish so I understand why they did that.

I mean overall unless Dante ends up being as easy to play as Vanilla Wolverine I doubt you’re going to see THAT much of him. Especially with 12 new characters that could potentially fuck some shit up also. Who knows…Vergil may end up being better than Dante and have a bunch of broke Vanilla style combos that they’ll have to patch every 2 weeks. LOL.

i just saw an anti air ABC done on maximilium’s gameplay at evo…seems fine to me…or maybe im talking bout somthing totally different.

i really hope sky dance isn’t totally useless now…it really was the only combo you could do online when the lag was going down…i mean i love bold canceling and im glad it’s still there but sometimes it just difficult to do online.

and is it absolutely confirmed that you cant beehive into jet stream anymore?

100% you cannot beehive into jetstream after a long combo.
