Dante Changes in Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3

If acid rain hasn’t changed it’s properties, it’s gonna be lol with the new input change.

Everything is gonna be LOL with new input changes. Can’t wait for scrubs finally using hammer online. At least you’ll be able to air throw/air poke them out of the start up.

We’re gonna be using devil trigger a lot more.
Makes me feel like the best position for Dante now would be second, so he can use X Factor level 2 and some meters gathered by the point character to use devil trigger and make up for the damage nerf.
Also, it seems like now it will be a good idea to get used to finish our combos with crazy dance so we can have a ground knockdown to mixup.
That and we could cancel the crazy dance with super so we can do some nasty frametraps with thunderbolts in the corner.

I’m hype for this changes.
Time for us to really learn that DT.
I’m sure there will be amazing technology coming out in the next few months

I’m really worried about this change:

  • Increased knockback for all moves.

Does this mean that our block stun traps will not be there anymore? I sincerely hope not…stinger + beam is entirely too good.

I’m pretty sure the knockback refers to being pushed back when hit. That’s probably why the timing supposedly feels tighter on certain moves and why pepole float up higher after prop shredder and stuff.

People won’t get pushed back more on block and even if they did…stinger+beam to bold cancel port would still track the person and lock them down no matter how far they went. They’re just referring to what happens when people get hit by Dante now. X-23’s rage trigger super has more knockback on hit now so people don’t fall out of it like they sometimes do in Vanilla.

Yep, Jam Session assist got nerfed. I was playing today and in of of my extended bnbs with Dorm, they recover after getting hit with Jam Session way faster. This seems to based on hitstun deterioration. His bnbs still worked fine, you just gotta delay your dash after the j.:H: in the standard bold cancel bnb.

Not surprised cuz I just got done playing against a Zero/Dante/Mag player in tourney last week and Zero can TOD off that assist, so ghey. Randomly get hit by jam session 50/50 as you’re coming in and you lose. LOL.

Nah, London Comic Con today. It still causes the same amount of hitstun if it hits early in a combo, but in extended combos they flip out quickly. So yeah, you’re still gonna have to worry about getting TOD’d off that random Jam Session lol.

So…Will I just be able to do J. :h: (get push blocked) dash up then Cr. :l: quickly? (cause for some resaon it never gets blocked)

Because I had Heard something about him getting some type of slight landing lag after J. :h: or something…

My understanding is that this is a universal change, since assists used to ignore hitstun deterioration in combos. Now that’s taken into account, so no more assist extensions for combos in general.

Yeah that makes sense. I’m sad, my best combos wiped out just like that lol.

Was messing about with Dante at London MCM Expo and found they got rid of the Million Carats>Devil Trigger/Xfactor>Teleport crossup glitch. Didn’t check to see if it had been mentioned or not but I thought I’d let people know.

I’d be surprised if assist extenders did not exist anymore. The windows are simply gonna be tighter

I never used assist extension combos any ways except for DHC glitch so I’m right at home on the 15th. Just gotta change my Dante bnb’s up a bit and I"m in there.

I’m gonna miss the sentinel skydance combos Q_Q. Still, I’m dropping Sent for Vergil anyway, so not a horrible loss (Zero will be my damage guy anyway).

I don’t think they’ll be gone entirely, but a lot of the last minute end-of-combo extensions to squeeze out extra damage and meter gain will probably be gone. Characters who were more reliant on assist extensions to keep up with the more damaging characters will probably still make good use of assists in combos.

yeah you can probably ex out all the corner post beehive stuff to fit all the last minute damage meter you can in between the two volcano beehives. Beehive ground bounce call drones then revolver in to fire works drones hit them jump hammer use what ever otg finisher. to be honest it’s hard to squeeze in assist damage if you do mid screen acid rain loops any way. Times I did use extenders was on characters like zero when you have to do the air trick hammer after prop shredder cause nothing else will work reliably and I don’t think that’ll change much at least I hope.

I hope they don’t nerf it to badly, I recently dropped Sentinel for Doom, Doom has a little more options than Sentinel and Doom as an anchor is a little better in my opinion, and his cheese tactics are so good hahahahaha, Dante + Hidden missiles is so fucking Godlike for combo extenders, the amount of shit I’m coming up with is ridiculous. and they are buffing Doom up for Ult MvC3 so i can’t wait to use him when the game finally drops.

Nonsense. My BnB is Midscreen Acidrain -> Akuma Extender to corner -> Sent bounce reset. It’s gone, guaranteed, along with 100k dropped off the assend of my combos. Assists hit by HSD wil kill the majoity of assist extensions. Just because stuff like Cold Star + Volcano -> jS will work, doesn’t mean much, when Volcano -> Disruptor -> jS, and a hundred others, won’t.
