What about getting a regenerating damage (like a huge focus absorb) from it? So after landing it you have to be careful for a while. It’s debatable how much regenerating damage it should get and how much it should deal, but it would be funny in some way. Dan is mostly a rush down character, so it would be nice to see him forced into playing defensive for a while.

Also instead of increasing damage or health on taunt, you could speed up his health regeneration after focusing attacks.

(Yes, i didn’t read all pages, so i’m sorry if somebody already suggested this)

If he get’s shinkuu koryuken, they’ve gotta get some super epic camera angles and zoom on his face with tears running down, like when it zooms in on ryu when he goes "metsu…"
And just have him saying somethin like "This is for you FATHERRR!"
only to have his weenie little super fireball come out.

If we’re talking about a damaging Ultra (rather than his other Legendary Taunt or Dan Install), we already have Hisshou Buraiken as his Super leaving Shinkuu Gadouken and Kouryu Rekka from past games. Why not add both together for his new Ultra? To parody Ken a little it’d start like his Shinryuken but with an even bigger cheesey grin and go into Kouryu Rekka, as they come down from it he charges his massive (but short range) Shinkuu Gadouken, which they land on. Maybe skip the Skinkuu Gadouken on block or whiff so he’s still cake to punish, also give it juggle properties dammit!

Another idea, sticking with parodies, Shin Kouryuken? (True Shinny Dragon Fist) :stuck_out_tongue:

i quite like dans move list ,why does he need to be a joke character?

maybe there should be 2 versions of dan on one slot.

Thanks. Dan should atleast be competitive with all the tiered characters instead of just disregarded as an automatic win.

other changes:

-taunt builds meter
-roll taunt from alpha…have it build like half a block of meter
-an ex taunt w/ super armor lol
-no recovery on jumping taunt
-Dashes turned into full runs
-Ultra finish freezes with the sunburst on Dan’s pose for the camera instead of the krk

Or maybe they just need to buff his jokiness, to the point where he is a funny to watch reg character. He can be a joke character without sucking… Not that he super sucks in Vanilla SF4, he’s leveled up substantially in the current outing.

i think his cl.mp should have a 2f startup since it has trash range and recovery. yeah. fastest normal in the game.

Roll taunt would have to USE a bar. That’d be hilarious.

I do kinda like the idea of him having an EX taunt with super armor, but not be cancelable.

Yeah it’d just be hilarious to be able to absorb someone’s attack and still finish off your taunt. I’d use it all the time (which is why fast meter-building is necessary) :wgrin:

They should have Shin Dan as a secret boss you fight by taunting a certain amount of times in arcade mode on hardest difficulty :smiley:

Dan needs to be given more powerful attacks, and give some of them more range. Like, make the light Dankyaku work like a Tiger Knee. Not as powerful, but give it the range and other properties. He can still have his goofiness while being a legitimately good and versatile character.

I would slash the recovery on the aerial versions down to 2 to 3 frames (It’s currently at 10 frames, or something) and shorten the startup of all Dankus across the board and leave it at that. The Dan Knee already has monstrous priority and is safe on block at any range, making it great for mixups, etc. Giving it a TK-size range boost would change it dramatically where it’s not necessary.

If startup on all Dankus were better, the range at which you could combo or safely lead into them (cr.MK/cr.MP xx Dankus!) would be delishush, essentially solving a lot of punish, damage and combo problems.

That would be funny if they did that… but theres only one start button.

Whatever happened to the Dan flash on his DP/uppercuts?

Dan needs to have to try three times to backthrow u, rather than just two.

And he needs to wipe sweat from his brow after he manages to pull it off
