Personally I’d like to see

Vacuum on Super
Bigger Damage on U2
Some sort of overhead

All I want is Dan jump taunt will actually damage you. How sick would it be just to do a flying taunt and land it for the win.

If anything they probably WILL give Dan a weirder hitbox than even Blanka, the only change that actually could be “Dan like”

also id like him to do again the c.MK->Qcb+K. And allow you to go little more foward from the (air)Qcb+K.

And last not least, i think Dan, besides a joke, should be a Troll too.
In order to do that, and at the same time refer to Art of Fighting, his taunts need to take out a little of gauge points of the opponent; dunno if from Super, or Ultra, or both, and dunno about WHICH taunts, but that has to be done.

I think they realised that they made Dan too good in SF4 so they are trying to correct their mistakes. Im going to be so pissed if they really do nerf st.MK. Thats the only thing that would drive me crazy, its so abusable. Other than that, anything else, they do I think I could live with.

They honeslty should make a positive for Dan doing taunts though. As for his Super…I don’t understand why they took away the vaccum for it in the first place. There really isn’t any explanation for it other than “oh, we don’t want Dan to be able to combo into chip kills due to vaccum FX.”

Taking away meter would be funny for taunt. But that might make Dan too good in capcom’s eyes. Then they would make his st.MK come out at Gief’s RBG speed.

I doubt it, othwise they’ll have to have some gay dan as the trial dummy.

I’d be happy with his taunts doing minor damage & ideally, having all of his taunts build meter… It’s dan for gods sake… you should be encouraged to taunt with him.

I’d also like his crouch taunt cause Knockdown in air & be ultra cancellable.

SRK -> FADC -> Crouch Taunt -> Haoh Gadouken.

That would be the ultimate finish, at present his only good finishes are projectile -> Super (during KO) & SRK -> Super -> one roll -> Ultra 2

but yeah i think when you’re him they should give you every reason to taunt.

I think his crouching Taunt should cause a juggle state after Koryuken or as an Anti-Air, do 10 damage, be FADC-able and Super Cancellable.

Jumping Taunt should have less recovery, do 10 damage and cause a juggle state air-to-air as well. These resets make it unsafe to even hit the opponent with them in most scenarios.

Legendary Taunt should stay as is.

Make Danku hitbox larger. Have it stretch under Dan’s body a bit. This would be pretty godlike though. Increase blockstun on all Air Dankus.

Jumping MK needs to do more stun, still. A faster dash would be pretty godlike too.

He also needs a rolling taunt. Some kind of shitty Marseilles Roll that ends in whatever personal action you picked, or a default taunt if you picked nothing.

Super needs tweaking, I suppose. I don’t mind either way. Dan also needs Otoko Michi as a hidden Super move.

I’m quite happy with everything else. His damage is fine. His meter building is fine, but Crouching Taunt should build meter. Lots of it, since it’s punishable on reaction. Everything else is all pretty fine for me.

Completley agree! this would make Dan funner to play as well as more viable. Koing with cr.taunt would be too awesome. And yes, it should build your meter/take away meter from foe. More reasons to taunt :smiley:

Oh, and Ive missed rolling taunt, itd be hillarious in a game like this. Dankuu mix ups -> rolling taunt? Lol, thatd be too funnyif your opponent threw out a tech or reversal. I think itd be better for rolling taunt to end in Cr.Taunt, like it used to.

Quitting if they nerf standing medium kick–really it’s his main tool that makes him RELATIVELY viable, and makes some of his matchups from being hard 8-2’s.

Dan’s seriously the only character I enjoy and I bring him to tournaments, he’s already not that good and NERFING SMK!? WTF.

Fuck you capcom if this is true, and sorry if it’s not. I been buying/playing SF for a long time and I have to deal with this bullshit!? You know how bad Dan gets zoned? He can’t even Dan kick vs hit-boxlowering moves like shoto cmk and juri sweep…WOW.

  • jumping air taunt and crouch taunt are minus 30 frames i think?
  • standing hard kick is near useless (as in i haven’t found a use but maybe there is one)
  • his stun rating was lowered to 900 now? REALLY? but hey i’m not even complaining about that when there’s other stupid shit
  • he can’t dan knee pressure thawk/gief, and with standing medium kick nerfed matchups like zangief and thawk (whom can counter it with pokes of their own like gief standing medium punch)
    while it being possibly somewhat justified, landing a knee off a blocked move like crouching medium kick due to semi low hit stun is a risk itself (LARIATTTTTTTTTT/TOMAHAWK), hmm who wants to look at the startup of his knees? Did I mention in this matchup that…
  • Gadoken hitbox is pretty much to the gadoken itself almost?!
  • Standing medium kick has flaws, hit-box wise too.
  • sweep sucks
  • standing far hard punch = lol…

Joke character or not, Dan has a fanbase, we love the character, and this is what we get? Not even fixing Bnb hitboxes, massive lag on air and ground taunts, no rolling taunt, no autograph, the new skin is a great idea except it doesn’t follow the original one many of us saw with red skin and bearded face which is what a lot of us wanted. To be fair we can’t judge until the actual skin is out, but I doubt you’ll be able to put mask on/off since it’s a specific skin.

Yeah I was a little angry that they didn’t let Dan put on the mask.
Super costume version just made me giggle a little bit when i do the ass-slap on somebody, but not really what i want.
The first alternate is KINDA cool, but not my style.

The only thing I want back for Dan Hibiki is the autograph throw, so that when it hits the person, it will leave a stench of Saikyo! I also want them to bring back the Shin-Goku-Gatsu from (Gem fighter i think), remember that guys? Where Gou Hibiki just comes out and does the awesomest thing ever? Good times.
Just tweak Dan like how he was in Alpha 2 plus, that was my favorite edition. Oh! I just remembered something in alpha 2 plus. Against Gief with Dan, start off by taunting in air towards gief and then throw him. And keep on doing the same thing over and over, it’s the bomb.
And for god sakes Capcom, bring back the Suicidal attack from MVC2…

I agree with most of this, and also would just wish they fixed the speed/timing on his normals. At the very least bring them back to Alpha 2 level. I can’t stand it that Dan takes 10 000 years to do a c.HP, which is my favorite KNEE set up. Against the likes of Pinwheel Puff it really gets annoying to counter anything that’s blocked.

Yeah, I get cr.hp on accident sometimes when going for a kroyu and it sucks, if it was at a Ryu Ken or Akuma speed sure it wouldnt be like Dan but MAAAAN itd be good, cr.hp anti air cancel to knee (wouldnt juggle but would be a great set up, ambiguous and leads to more mix ups)

Not having a normal anti air is definitely annoying. However because his dash is so godly he can escape cross overs without needing to hit them. (I still freeze up and forget to dash a lot) Honestly give Dan Sean’s roll and he would become mid tier + instantly.

Actually you know what I want REALLY REALLY REALLY badly back? Dan’s high kick from alpha 2. That was better than a crouching high punch
