Any new top level Aracde footage of Dan?

Doubt it. Ive heard from multiple arcade goers in Japan that no one picks Dan there. Im not sure where there are any other arcades in US besides California, and i know for a fact not many good players pick Dan here.

If I can beg my cousin and I to go to chinatown this week and spend my money on AE, I’ll try to get him to record something.

Not that I’m a very good player, but I’m maining Dan now. I would love to see other people do the same.

As im trying to figure out if Honda is even playable anymore , been working up Blanka who is better for me and went back to Dan as well.

I try to play a few times a week on the AE Cab, if anyone wants me to try certain combos/sitiations let me know I dont mind , since it seems the Japs arent even waisting their time on him.

I like his slightly better footsies and the DMG nerf sucks but worth it for better footsies and his Cr.HP seems to AA slightly better but still working on that.

how big is the damage nerf to dankuu? really that bad?

Try lots of weird shoto esque combos, see what links and how we can end combos with specials. also try u1 combos.

Wow. cl.HK leaves you at +5 minimum! That’s going to be a beefy punish combo.

cl.HK > cr.MP xx HP.Koryuken will net you 282 damage and 460 stun, which is way better than old Dan’s un-nerfed cr.HP xx HK.Danku at 250 damage and 400 stun.

Koryuken FADC nj.HP leaves you almost at neutral with an opponent mashing Quick Stand. That makes me kinda sad. Should be time for a meaty cr.LK, though.

Hori-ball looks punishable on block with both Ultras, too. O:

Colour me surprised KRK was in range for the combo. We did think before that s.HK was +5/6 on hit from some source. s.HK looks to be the old s.MP with a better reel animation for combos. That Dan was still stuck in the old s.MP combo mind-set, didn’t seem like any frame trap attempts with it.

Shissou can currently punish Blanka ball in the corner, just like in that video.

That was the best AE Dan video I’ve seen yet!

Unless I’m understanding your response incorrectly, at 1:34 in that video it looks like Dan can punish blanka ball with ultra pretty easily (there both at mid screen). Because of Blanka’s hitbox the general punish is gonna end up being dash -> cr. mk/lk -> EX Danku or something similar.

I think UD only came up with combos containing 4-frame normals connecting from cl.HK, not cr.MP. Maybe I missed a post.

Either way, let me clarify. Dan blocked a ball midscreen. Thanks to Blanka’s ball nerf, he should be able block anywhere from crouchblock and still punish with Ultra or a Dash > Koryuken, maybe even a Dash > cr.MP xx Koryuken.

It was before UD got his hands on it, there was the information from the dev blog and some other information from God knows where with more specifics concerning frame data. If s.HK > c.MP turns out to be a 1-framer I’m staying away from it, I have enough trouble with 2-frame links I’m not going to risk getting punished for a punish attempt.

At the end of the video we see him punish the ball with Shissou in the corner, that’s currently already possible. Around 1:34 he dashes and hits with a s.LK, anything other than a light attack (or KRK) might not be fast enough after dash but I think Shissou should easily bridge the gap and reckon EX Dankuu probably would as well, Haoh might be a bit on the slow side. Still Dan blocked the ball point blank, Blanka could have used LP ball and would have pushed him back to safety in that situation :stuck_out_tongue:
