DAIGO not retired yet

It’s painfully obvious that Daigo is out of practice… and he’s probably kicking himself in the ass that he quit last year. He did make it to top 8 in CvS2 though, which surprised me. Hopefully he’ll be back full swing for Evo2k7.

Better luck next year, Daigo.

I fail to see how that wasn’t a beatdown.

At that high level of play, not winning around or even getting close it, is a beatdown.

But I agree with some of the people here, he was playing TOO defensively, and when he came in to attack he made is offense too obvious.

its all semantics, but a beatdown in most people’s minds is getting totally outclassed. aka double perfect.

Yeah, but what kind of scrub gets double-perfected in 3S, I mean jeez.

kokujin got double perfected by J in one of them tourny. Can’t seem to remember which one. hehe

Shirube Two.

X-Ryu was probably used on V-Chun because V-Chun obviously doesn’t have a valid hadorave that chips or any vc that chips for massive damage. Ryu vs chun can make every stop count with the big damage x-ism brings in. Each DP is better than it wouldve been in v-ism. Also, in x-ism Ryu’s dp has more invulnerable frames iirc. So that makes it even easier to stop Chun’s poking. And also if chun decides to air recover ryu has shinku for her to fall on. The lack of airblocking isnt a set back either because chun’s best anti airs can’t be airblocked anyhow(cr. roundhouse for example).

A-Ryu was probably used vs Guy because Guy can take out Ryu’s corner game, Guy is really good at getting out of the corner. So he can potentially avoid more hadorave set ups than others. Also it’s in Guy’s favor to trade with hadoken while using his pokes because he’ll win as far as damage is concerned. A-Ryu gives ryu the attack boost, and the slightly bigger guard meter so he doesnt get put into the position of getting crushed into guy’s level 3 kick super.
And A-Ryu has an easier midscreen punish for Guy. Cause that fight will mostly be in the middle of the screen, moreso than corners imo.

If you watch acho videos too you’ll notice that whenever A-Guy went up against Ryu, that Ryu player would pick a-ism often times.

IMO though V-Ryu is just as hard to beat with Guy because V-Ryu forces alpha counters, keeping Guy from level 3.

Ryu’s DPs are the same across all isms in terms of invulnerable frames.

any particular reason why there’s only 1 cvs2 video in that Daigo playlist?

Lol

That’s crazy how people do admire Daigo .
Sure he is very talented in Fighting game ,but hey , do you know all Daigo ?he is your friend ?you joke with him ? no …
I respect his mighty skill ,but other than that ,he is a basic japanese .

Skill is the only thing that matters in the fighting game world man. It’s what unites us.

It doesn’t matter what language you speak, where your from, what you look like, if you bring the heat, you get respect.
