stuart that is an excellent avatar
I’ve played lots of japanese players on xbox live…from scrubs to guys that I can only get a round on at best, so I think there is a place for it, just needs a release.
I don’t understand why wouldn’t they release this in japan, makes no sense.
I agree.
exactly. chun vs ryu for example is really bad, used to be 6:4 and now it’s 6.5:3.5 Ryu. She really needed the super meter and throw damage, and ambiguous crossup. Not to mention fake fireball gives Ryu a whole lot.
They probably thought the game would flop. HDR is loved by a lot of people over here, but hated by a lot too. Maybe they thought the reaction in Japan would be even more harsh. An arcade release would be pretty pricey.
Assuming that just because they aren’t on ggpo they’re playing HDR is a shitty assumption, and if you’ve actually talked to Graham you’ll know what his problems with HD Remix are.
As far as this thread, good for Daigo, I’ll still be playing Vanilla ST.
Don’t forget winning money matches then posing for the camera (especially for the haters)
One can only hope for an arcade release… You don’t hear much of japanese ST nowadays, so a revival of its scene with the new version would be great.
because 7th place out of 300+ people is just so bad. boo hoo
let’s turn it into Capcom vs SNK 3 thread instead
I agree, CvS3 would be much more cooler than HDR arcade.
I’m pretty sure if HDR got arcade release, I’d quit fighting games altogether.
Yeah, I guess it would make sense if the SF2 player base was unified on one version, rather than some on HF, some on ST, some on AE, and some on HDR.
Actually, the European release doesn’t really count either. It came out on the same day as SFIV (ie 3 months late), and was completely lost among the IV hype. It was overlooked to the stage that for the most part, the only Europeans playing it are those with a 2nd (ie US) account.
agree
Man I gotta say no to that Honda is fine in this here joint and any changes would have him murdered in this game.
honest question here
do you think that arcade owners would be interested on buying an arcade version of HDR that would cost $XXX compared to the downloadable version that cost $15? just wondering
Yes…do you have any idea how expensive the SFIV, Blazblue, Tekken, KOFXII set ups are? Arcade vendors didn’t shy away from those at all. A new SFII would be bank for Japan.
And have you seen some of the coin-op machines in Japan? Some of the shooters and racing games make a Vewlix or a Versus City look like ancient furniture and they cost WAY more than the most expensive fighting same setups.
Remember…the Japanese would rather go to the arcades and play 3S than play it on consoles or GGPO for free…they LOVE arcades. HDR would probably take a few months of top ten easily for arcade fighting games.
ramen
that son of a BITCH
that’s the idea
