The atmosphere and player mentality are completely different when it comes to playing in front of thousands in a tournament (if you include the stream monsters, 80k+ for EVO) and a small money match (unless it’s clockwork/Neo MM tier).

He didn’t make mistakes, Fei Long is just a terrible matchup for C Viper and one that she is in a big disadvantage. You can see her limits in the tier list from that match.
I believe the idea is that you observe the style until you know it inside and out – in the actual MMA/boxing/etc. community there’s a similar idiom involving tapes that I don’t happen to remember ATM, IIRC. It’s not just knowing ‘the matchup’ but rather ‘how that style of player (or that player, period, at high enough levels) drives that character, and having those reactions in your mind as you approach the matchup.’
I’m not 100% on this definition though – it fits contextually but I am relatively new to ‘the lingo’ despite having been screwing around locally for a long time (areas I live in always have weak scenes

Yes when people say Download complete it means that the person know’s how you play and can read what your going to do before you even do it. Pretty much the guy just did an inception in your mind and knows your ins and outs. People throw out the word a bit too often for my liking i’ve only seen a few people that actually do this extremely well. I can definately say the poongko vs Daigo match was definately a Download complete moment.
I agree that Daigo probably never faced a Seth like Poongko’s before. That’s the best Seth player in the World, and one of the best players, period. I literally can’t wait for the runback. No doubt Daigo, and every other top player will study Poongko’s matches from now on. Only question is if Poongko will be making it to any other “majors”. I think he’s sponsored by Totalheads, but i’m not sure they have the opportunity to send him to every tournament.
Somebody that can need to pick him up. I think Mike Ross or Gootecks are in charge of finding talent for Complexity/crosscounter and they should definitly look into signing him. In fact you’d have to question their ability to do their job if they at least didn’t try. To do what he did, in the way that he did it, with Seth, is just unbelievable. With all due respect to Fuudo, Daigo and Latif he has to be the hottest thing in SF right now. I know I, as a fan of the scene, want him at every single tourney.

what’s that has to do with other yun player beating poongko in money match? do you mean poongko only play 100% in tournament? this guy doesn’t win all the tournament you right? he loses alot in korean tournaments too.
People may or may not like Daigo for various reasons, but I like him simply because he’s so good. He’s what I aspire to be when I play the game (but I know I’ll never be at that level). I don’t care about his personality, fanboys, etc. I just appreciate his skill. Same goes for Tokido, Mike “Mike Ross” Ross, Poongko, etc.
Getting all worked up over this type of stuff is pretty silly IMO.
I been looking down on Daigo since after I heard Seth Killian mentioned that he rewired his back/select button to be able to plink with a 100% execution. This is like pointing at a top sportsman for using steroids… I’m so disappointed and ashamed to be a former Ume Fan boy.

Rewired back + select? wtf would that do?
Hitting select while plinking extends the plink for an additional frame. Not sure how you’d rewire to make that magic happen, though. Maybe having every button also trigger select does that.
