All feedback + criticism welcome

when you guys are both standing and blanka hops at you and he has no meter just mash throw (judging how your opponent’s play it doesn’t seem he would try to bait the throw tech…)

hibiki standing slash after every blanka ball hit or blocked.

learn to down parry wakeup blanka elec into super :wgrin:

i feel sorry for p-chun/hibiki

you are staying in one place too long doing nothing and seems like you are just fishing for a parry (i can tell by you eating the 2 720’s). sometimes, you just gotta take some risks, get in and rush his ass down.

rc electricity is a bitch, but you could throw him out of it you know, or level 3 super. i guess you were trying to parry it into dp?

the hibiki b&b should be 2nd nature to you and you miss too many opportunites punishing the blanka ball. its possible to slash him back even when it hits.

i am actually a fan of LG’s, i had been watching his kyo vids since i was a scrub, please explain if i misunderstood some points, but here goes:

  1. from watching the vids it seems like u do a lot of risky things, like a red kick after a knockdown blanka, just wondering what u were doing there…if it’s a habit of punishing safe falls hcb+k is better?

  2. u abuse that cr.mp a little too much…it might be good priority but, i think cr.lk poking is better at that range and link more stuff. just imo it’s not that safe to abuse. if u want a distace poke a st.hk beats out a lot of stuff

  3. u ate a lot of blanka electricities…imo for P groove it’s easy punish after a parry then dp, i think u just missed the parries?

  4. i see some blocked jab rekka and u go for another one to mess them up, but u abuse it the wrong times and too much. ate some throws there. i would just play safe and stop after 1st blocked rekka

  5. it seems like when the opponent as almost no life left, u go straight for some cr.lk for kyo and chun. not safe at all, i would either do a meaty or just jump away. u don’t want to eat a super there…

  6. u do know mp rekka punishes blocked blanka ball…right?

This is good feedback. I declined saying anything prior because I didn’t want any areas left out. Lets get to it ;

I think one of the things I have poor defense against is Blanka ball whiffed right in front of your character. Its probably because I try so hard to getting used to punishing it, but I didn’t display that in these videos either.

I wasn’t aware Hibiki could punish the ball even on hit, I’ll make a note of that. I always try to parry elec standing up, I guess I should work on parrying it low then.

One of the 720’s I tried to do Chun’s df+rh to flip over it, but I got cr rh instead. The other 720 I ate hard. I agree with your assessment of not pressing the issue. I’ll try being more aggressive.

Here’s the thing about RC electricity. I remember reading Buk’s guide about how to counter it a long time ago, if you saw it out before you got up you could DP it, if its not out by the time you get up then you throw it. There’ve been times where I saw it out before I got up, did a DP and still got stuffed. I need to sit in practice mode and figure it out, but I can’t RC piano moves.

  1. I had to look at the replay a few times to understand my logic behind the RED kick after knockdown. Still can’t explain it other than I wanted to set up a meaty and didn’t want to walk in I suppose.

  2. I love doing cr mp. I’ll try making adjustments.

  3. A little bit of both. Missed parries for the most part.

  4. Good note. I like doing blocked rekka, pause, continue chain. But if its out of range like you mentioned then there’s a problem.

  5. Noted. This might be a case of not wanting to second guess myself. If they have little life left then surely they won’t do wake up super. And then I get nailed by it.

  6. YES. This is one thing I really wanted to mention when I posted the vids up but decided against. I punish blanka ball (with Kyo) 99 times out of 100. For whatever reason I did rh instead.

So no more evo south vids? I heard Buk almost won!

I heard kim is not back, baby. no explosions.

At a recent Norcal tourney (Tilt monthlies in Solano Mall, Fairfield), there was a $200 money match between two good up and coming central Cali players; Yos from Stockton (yes he can play!) and 357Kyo from Fresno. Yos just finished the tourney placing 2nd to Taesty (there was 28 players at the tourney). Yos plays A and 357Kyo plays C and K. This money match was a best of 5 series.

Tyram put up the matches, so thank him:

match 1

match 2

match 3

match 4

match 5

Edit: My, bad AK 47 got 3rd. It’s kind of confusing as all of the Fresno players were named after guns in the tournament.

^lol whips out the K groove for the last match and pwns the A groove

but what i REALLY want to know is, why does that R1 kyo lv3 super does SHIT LOAD of damage on the R2 bison? is it true that charging does more damage?

if so what’s the minimum and max damage of the flame super, please help

Please don’t spoil the results of MM or big tourney matches, I was sorta interested in the outcome after watching 3 games.

oh shit!! mini ino!!! whats up!

Man… that A-Vega… if you took a shot of tequila every time he does s.roundhouse as anti-air…

…you’d be one sober mother fucker.

GunterJPN: Hey when is GunterUSA coming back?

i’ll watch these vids when i get home and post some feedback.

The game speed seems extremely slow in these matches.

legendary gokou: i play p-groove so i’ll give you what i think you should do to maximize that team. i’m going to talk hella shit but remember…it’s all to help you out.

1] with kyo, always fish for down parries that will either lead to…

  • throw with hk
  • cr short, short, mp into qcf+p
  • fierce uppercut [after parrying blanka elec]
  • st rh into qcf+ mk with dp+rh ender

2] to gain momentume or basically get in, you need to just walk forward with kyo against any character. don’t be afraid to even jump in to get close. you can’t deal any heavy damage if you’re not in blanka’s guts.

3] speaking of space, memorize the spacing of blanka/any chars farthest poke and walk in/out of this space to make them do that move and punish.

4] drop hibiki/chunnie. honestly, these characters are for fun but if you want to start winning matches on the regular, pick up sagat/blanka/cammy. i’m not being a dick but realistic.

5] remember, p-groove builds meter so damn slow that you have to attack the opponent more to get meter/take damage off. try to play a bit more aggressive when they don’t have any meter and more safe when they have meter.

that’s it for now but i hope that helped you.

Albert. Stop fishing. Shit is cheap.

pigadoken’s 5th tip is one of the best i’ve seen in a long time in regards to playing p groove. that turtle down mentality will only get you so far.

Eh… I don’t know.

Steve’s P is pretty good, and he doesn’t move forward at all. Then again, he doesn’t care about actually doing damage; he just tries to make sure that you do less damage to him than he does to you.

Different styles… I think both are good to use.

But rule #6 is the most important.

Do push-ups.

Jal: I think you should play K just my imo you’re style suits K plus less push-ups.

LG: You should def drop chun and biki make sure whatever char you choose
doesn’t lose a lot because of you’re groove choice ie, sagat and cammy can go
anywhere.
