although the CH sign is a good indication, just watch out for the first attack sign.
John - I already buffer c.mk after s.lp… I can hit confirm off the counter hit fine if i try to anticipate it… Like:
s.lp, s.lp, s.lp…wait s,lp, c.mk(see’s counter hit) super. Hard to explain.
I tried just reacting to s.lp counter hit last night and it’s pretty hard to follow with immediate c.mk super… needs more practice…
the same thing you should learn first with EVERY character: their normals. know ranges, startup, circumstances to use what against who, etc.
luckily, kcxj has literally broken down all of rolento’s normals and other good stuff in the rolento section under “…” it’s basic enough, but very advanced at the same time. what you should NOT learn first is CC’s, crossup tricks/setups, gimmicks, or RC anything.
build a good base with your character’s set of normal attacks and you’ll do well.
I don’t see that thread anymore for rolento, looks like someone deleted it. Which is a real shame since it’s easily one of the best character posts on here in a long time.

lol, C-gief works with me. haven’t seen a competent gief in a LONG time. that’s why the iyo vids are so refreshing, because they’re oddball characters (except rolento) played well.

There are holes in my game, I suck against Blanka/getting in versus Vega, and there’s almost always a way to do something better than I might be doing it also, so please speak up if I wrote something wrong or missed anything important.
My Japanese is getting better and my friend Andy is an awesome tutor too, so I’ll have translations of what the CvS2 book says about Rolento soon also. (like the qcb+K, air d+MK, hold back right away trick to build meter etc…)

Kim, I have another strategy question that’s been bugging me if you don’t mind.
Why RC Scouter, air d+MK?
Any specific situations where it’s more useful as anti-air than the RC Scouter, j.HP? I’m practicing against Vice doing d.LK, d.LK, jumping cross-up short on me and I noticed both RC Scouter Back, j.HP and RC Scouter Back, air d+MK anti-air the cross-up attempt equally well, only j.HP does more damge.
RC scouter, then down+mk is good cause it hits instant. fierce is delayed and will sometimes miss

Oh. I forgot to post. Yeah new match vids up. C-Are is sort of a joke, in japan A-Are means A groove team THAT, like everyone automatically knows what A groove team scrub is. There really isnt a C groove TEAM THAT. It could be honda sagat blanka. But it’s not played that much, but whatever it is, it defintely has sagat in it.
