The difference is that hopping forward really has no purpose other than getting in, and in that case you might as well just dash.
With RC Elec, there’s so much more working in your favor rather than hopping forward.
-If an attack trades, it’ll trade in your favor.
-Outside of super(like lvl 3 or something), there aren’t too many attacks that are a threat to Blanka RCing Elec. (Vega cr. RH/cr. forward) something fast enough to hit it in between buffers.
In summary, it comes down to a matter of risk / reward. You can get more accomplished with RC Elec., and at a better cost than you can with hopping forward.
yeah, i was just kinda throwing that in there. But obviously if youre gonan jump in RC. its Highly higly in your favor since they eill either 1: block(atleast like…600 hits of damage chip), 2: they try to poke. Counter hit 2000+ damage.
Why throw in RC Hop when you can just Direct Lightning through the mothafucka? Though you’ll get style points if you do land RC Hop -> Direct Lightning on an actual opponent throwing a projectile…
Yeah, thats the point. style points. Dont try this risky shit unless youre sure. Its like blankas X-over trick. whenever i play blanka i go for it. It always its, but lately people block so i just make them look like an idiot and hit them in the front haha.
hop forward into super has its uses. its pretty much 50/50 with rc electricity. if you think they are going to throw you out of the electricity, they’ll eat the super. its pretty much the same concept as hop into CC.
iirc, only a handful of supers can hit blanka cleanly after a blocked super.
Two things - you’d have to put the stick to neutral BEFORE doing the hop (otherwise you’d get the back hop), and obviously this method doesn’t work for C-Groove when you have Level 2 and above (because of the need to use a specific button for a given level - you’ll get a super, just not guaranteed to be the level you want). It’s the old Daigo trick of pressing all the buttons in succession to make sure you get the button input at as many points as possible.
actually forget about anything i said about hop super.
i was thinking about dash super like dash cc and dash electricity but i got mixed up with his jungle hop.
anyways, i doubt its possible to dash into super since you cant charge partition in cvs2 and even if its possible to do, it doesnt seem reliable enough.
Back up in this with a video update with Bas vs Nitto and Bas vs Mago from the Tsudanamu CvS2 Tourney this past December. I’ll hopefully update frequently…
